I think I am having the same problem. When he pushes in, it feels like he is stretching my urethra back into my vagina. It is very painful. It wasn't like this until after I had my first baby, but I don't think that was the cause because it was not a vaginal birth-- I had a c-section. I've been to the doctor a few times about it but at that time i hadn't really realized it was my urethra he was hitting. I just felt pain. They thought I had a hormonal problem and gave me some Estrace. Now that I have realized it is my urethra where I feel the pain, I'm going to go back and get her to look again and see what I can find out. I hope there is something to be done other than lidocaine. It seems like that would get on his penis and make him numb as well. And you don't want to be numb during sex anyway!!! I just want it to feel normal.

I am overweight but I am trying hard to lose weight because I'm sick of all the problems it causes. I'm also doing kegels constantly now.

    Hi
It is hard to see the Urethra causing significant pain unless it is inflamed or infected.
Try the Apple Cider Vinegar for a while - usually you will get results within a week. A c-section can also cause nerve damage.
Getting fit will help a lot of things and could improve alignment/ position of things.

    Good luck.

    Hi all,

I'm not even sure whether or not anyone is even checking this forum anymore, but I happened to stumble into this thread, and I was wondering if any of you ever got an answer/diagnosis.

I also have urethral pain during intercourse, and for a few years I was being misdiagnosed as having frequent urinary tract infections, just as you described. Eventually, I was diagnosed a having interstitial cystitis, which causes pain similar to a UTI, but isn't caused by an infection. Tiny ulcers were visible in my bladder, which cause the majority of the pain and symptoms.

I did receive relief for most of the symptoms thanks to some lifestyle changes (no more cranberry juice or coffee, less stress, etc). However, I still sometimes have pain in my urethra/urethral sponge. It isn't as frequent as it used to be, but I still haven't found a way to beat it. Any suggestions?

    Hi Somebunyandfriends
I have interstitial cystitis also..i was told for years it was a uti. I go through the same pain with intercourse and it sucks..I actually felt like i was alone in this until i just saw this thread. Makes me very depressed. Since i know in the back of my mind its gonna hurt i tend to tence up and make it worse. Does it burn for you also? After he is inside for a few mins it goes away..
With having interstitial cystitis i have read it causes pain during intercourse..I am going to make a appointment with my obgyn doctor and see what she has to say. I also get the burning sensation even when I'm not doing anything sometimes and is very uncomfortable..does this happen to you also?
