With all the good advice you've received I hate to be a contrarian.

Swallowing is enjoyable. The gagging is only something you do while you're first learning how to swallow. Once you get the hang of it, you won't gag anymore. It's okay to be gagging right now. It's really nothing to worry about. Keep a positive enthusiastic attitude, put your will power into it, you will succeed, you'll no longer gag and you can start enjoying yourself. You can do it. Me, I swallow with enthusiasm and gusto. I love swallowing and I'm really good at it. I don't want to brag. It wasn't always so. I had to learn how to do it just like everyone else.

Its mind over matter. The idea of ejaculate in my mouth use to be enough to make me want to puke in my mouth a little... but then, I fell in love... and fell in lust.. and fell completely head over heals for my boyfriends penis I see his his cum like his orgasm in liquid form and it excites me to no end. You have it in your mind that the warm temperature bothers you, so it will... instead embrace the warm. Stop thinking in form of actual flavors, textures and tempertaures like its a food product and think of it like the sex it is... tasting sex. Tasting the highest point of his pleasure.

You do not have to swallow it... When he gets close to cumming you use your hand and while holding your mouth open (or tongue out) spritz it across there and your lower face. You won't get it in your eye if you are the one controlling the aim, no more than you would squirt yourself in the eye with a water hose while taking a sip. Just guide it downwardof your mouth... if some gets on your tongue... let it drip off.

Men tend to like to SEE their results... you swallowing it isn't all that crucial as where they get to feel it and see it go. Watching you ENJOY it is the turn on. If you swallowed every time but acted like it was a bitter pill... it would ruin that moment, the swallowing would be irrelevent.

If your guy went down on you spitting into a napkin every other minute, wuold you feel sexy and relaxed? Probably not. You love this man, he's not feeding you out of that thing, its his sex... its not going to taste like boston creme pie... but its not supposed to.

Of course you don't have to do anything you don't want to do. But I think one blow job every 2 years... is really painting yourself into a corner of having an unsatisfied partner. I'll get heat for that statement... I'm sure of it. But I just don't get the big deal about doing something like that for the one you love, especially if they do for you as well.
Scars remind us of where we've been...they don't have to dictate where we're going.
