Default New here with a question

So feb. of 2010 I had the essure procedure done and lately I have been having extreme pain during and after sex. It hurts deep inside and in my lower stomach, I do not have health insurance any more so I wanted to see what you all thought. It makes being intimate with my husband very hard and he feels bad.

    Essure Side Effects

Essure has been around for a few years now. The use of Essure as a permanent birth control for women is being used more often because of the conveniences it offers. The spring like coils can be inserted right in the physician’s office. There is no need for surgery that is needed for the more traditional types of tubal ligation. The recovery period after the procedure is minimal.

As there are women that love the freedom that Essure gives them there are women that are having issues or side effects. There are women that are posting on the Internet about Essure problems and want to have the Essure coils removed. Some of the problems are:

    Unexplained weight gain.
    Painful intercourse.
Stabbing pain where the coils are located.
    Thinning hair.
    Irregular bleeding and spotting.
Menstrual cycles or periods that are much worse than before the Essure procedure was performed.

The above symptoms are just a few of what those who are having Essure problems are experiencing. In most cases women are being told that the only way to have the Essure removed is with a hysterectomy. This is not the case. The Essure coils and all scar tissue can be removed. If a couple decides they want more children the healthy portions of the fallopian tubes can be reattached to the uterus and fertility restored.

Chapel Hill Tubal Reversal Center has been receiving an abundance of calls requesting information on Essure reversal. Dr. Berger and Dr. Monteith are able to remove the Essure coils as well as any scar tissue that has formed. The surgery is performed as an outpatient procedure and takes about one hour.

For those that want fertility restored the procedure that is used is called a tubouterine implantation. The fallopian tubes are reattached to a new opening in the uterus so that fertility is restored. For those who do not want to have more children the fallopian tubes are not reattached so that there is no chance of the egg and sperm meeting. There is no need to worry about having to use a second form of birth control.

Information of Essure reversal and removal is available on the Chapel Hill Tubal Reversal Center website. There is a very active message board as well as a blog and videos. By being an advocate for yourself and researching you will get the care you deserve. Essure side effects can be stopped.
