Thread: Pain AFTER sex that lasts a week.

I have had inflammed intestines off and on for 4 years. It is about every three months. About a month and a half ago, I stopped taking my birth control. Since then, when my husband and I have sex, it doesnt hurt during but after. It feels like the early stages of my intestines being inflamed or my uterus being bruised or something. It lasts for about a week. It doesnt get as bad as the actuall inflammation but it still hurts. We have been together 10 years and never had this problem. I am wondering if it could be the hormones changing because of going off birth control or if it is something more serious. Anybody else had this?

Hey, you could be having ovulation pains. I get this pain too - It doesn't last as long, but I do get pain right after intercourse. Also, I was watching a show last night about a woman who is allergic to her husband's semen. That could be a possibility, but probably not since it only happens every three months for you. Anyway, hope that helps a little! Also, it could be horomones after coming off of birth control. You might want to get it checked out or ask a nurse - Planned parenthood has really cheap/free rates if you do not have insurance!
