Hello lix-girl -
I don't know your complexion but for people with more melanin in their skin excessive shaving, scar tissue, and electrolysis proceedures can cause skin darking. If any of these apply to you, perhaps avioding it would help. There are OTC skin lightening products such as Skin Success, (you can get at Walmart). Read the directions because certain areas may not be recomended for use. The somewhat more costly alternative is a cosmetic proceedure such as rectal skin bleaching, which leads me to believe other body areas are probably able to be bleached as well. But those are post darking solutions. I hope this was helpful. Be Blessed!!!

Hey lix-girl-
Sorry my reply didn't help you out. Thanks for letting me know. However, the skin bleaching suggestion is across the board for all skin types. Although the doctor's bill for this is not for all budgets.Did you ever get any helpful suggestions from another source? Please let me know. Now I'm curious what the remedy is for this issue. Who knows when someone else might need the same info. Good luck. Be Blessed!!!
