We use two lubes - Pjur Eros for 'conventional' sex and Liquid Silk for when we are using toys. The Eros is a silicone lube. You only use very small amounts and it gives a really smooth glide that lasts for hours. Unlike the water based Liquid Silk it does not feel cold to apply. We only recently started using this lube as we did not want to damage our collection of silicone toys (most manufacturers of silicone toys advise against using them with silicone lubes). However, having found that the Tantus toys were compatible with this lube we gave it a go. Strangely, the Eros was a disappointment with the toys, giving far too much drag but for skin-to-skin it's great.
The Liquid Silk still serves us well on 'toys night' and is thick enough to be good for anal play. We also tried Maximus (from the same firm that make Liquid Silk) and its even thicker, which could be even better for anal play but for some reason I get a slight stinging sensation from it.
KY is my least favorite brand. You might want to check into a silicone lube if you're having trouble keeping it moist. Silicone is the absolute best way to go with lubricants in my opinion!
Tried that "KY Warming" ****, and it did more than warm, it burned the **** out of me and ruined our night!
Also tried a KMS brand, comes in a pump which is ideal because when the Astro leaks (in the throes of passion when you don't notice if the lid clicks back in place, lol) it makes a helluva mess.
So the KMS comes in second because of the pump, but I like the Astro best. But not the gel! Bought that for a vacation, bad consistency. Didn't compare with the liquid.
