Default How is watching porn different than seeing a stripper?

All you women who are okay with your man watching porn, and all you men who watch porn, why is it okay to watch porn but not go to a stripper? What's the difference, really? Both are real women doing sexual acts for the purpose of turning you on. One's on a computer screen and one's not, but they're both real women.

I understand now that porn is about fantasy for men. Is there a line because strippers are reality? I have trouble understanding this because women in porn are real women, too, although the medium through which you interact with them is different and men who are watching porn don't see them as real women.

For instance, I have a girlfriend who just got married whose husband watches porn occasionally and she doesn't care because she knows that is just his sexual fantasy and she doesn't think she has the right to take his sexual fantasies away from him. At his bachelor party, he didn't want a stripper, and once my friend bought him a lap dance and he was totally uncomfortable. So he watches porn but doesn't like strippers -- how are these two reconciled?

Also, what about the women performing each act? Why does society tend to look down on strippers (and prostitutes, for that matter) but celebrate porn stars? How are any of those things different?

Does the fact that it's through a screen make all the difference?

Think you answered your own question with the last line......

Porn for men would be fantasy, but a stripper well she is real, she is life, she is in front of him plus most strippers stop short at doing anything as much as they can see on a computer, they take their clothes of dangle over a pole, may show a bit, touch their breast but you don't see a man doing it to her on stage.

    Well you do in Singapore.....

It's a completely different thing. In my books to watch.

I waitressed in my youth before going into Management and we visited a couple of those places as they were night clubs that were popular back then, some of the girls we got to know and they were just lost souls, seeing it as a way of income.

So, i can see your point that they are deemed degrading but i think if you asked a man, would you go out with a porn star, a stripper or a prostitute they would say no to the whole three.

If they are of course looking for a relationship.

As, in their eyes, all three are doing some form of showing their entire body to the world which they would not want anyone else to see.

    Good question though.

Because you can't sleep with a tv screen or a computer screen. You can take a stripper home and you can have physical contact with one.

    it's not different.

typically a guy is alone with porn so he masturbates. you don't do that in strip clubs.

but most strippers who make "house calls" to hotel rooms come prepared to either go further (prostitution) or to offer you lube & a towel so you can masturbate while they put on their show for you.

one is on a stage, the other is on a magazine page or computer/TV screen.

    no difference.

many men who watch porn - even if they are open about it - believe it to be shameful. it's embarassing.

guys are more comfortable with a compuer or DVD player because it can't see through them & judge them. they can act shameful without feeling ashamed.

no one to look in the eye.

ask a male porn user you know if you can sit in the corner next time he surfs the internet & beats off. see what he says.

there's a reason he doesn't want you in the room with him.

I can see the logic in that. And, also a man can't exactly masturbate with all their might in front of a stripper, and feel comfortable therefore, for the same reason, your quote "no one to look in the eye" , therefore they are actually somewhat different scenarios. I think.

i would have to say that a way of looking at it (in a social way) is paying a stripper or prostatue is paying for the act to be done to them while dvd or online porn is paying to watch the act. honestly as a guy i never liked either manly cause porn isnt actuall touch and i find it wrong for a person to have to pay for the attincion like that. If i get that kind of attintion i want to earn it not pay for it.

It's interesting when you look at it from all angles isn't it, as well as men and women's views and thoughts.

I agree though i guess some though may not have confidence in themselves, single and therefore have no choice either way, apart from that, it's great when a man prefers to "earn it" and not pay for it either way, good for you.

I would consider porn and WATCHING a stripper to be the same. Lap dances, etc are physical contact, and are to my mind different. To me, any interaction with a stripper makes it more like interacting with a real person, and more like cheating.

Stripping/Exotic Dancing isn't a sex act. Women failing their bodies about to awful music is about as a sexy as licking an ashtray. Nobody has ever orgasmed from dancing like a monkey suffering a seizure while taking your clothes off.

Pornography on the other hand contains actual sexual activities between one or more persons. Usually graphic, bizarre, rare, or extreme sex acts that the porn consumer is never likely to encounter. Two girls and one guy? Thats a staple of every porn movie ever made, how many RL men have had the pleasure?? One in 50? Same for S&M, for every person who does the deed there are 1000 who will only watch it while masturbating.
