    Default The question of Virginity

To be fair to another's thread, I have started this one to argue the perspective of virginity.

Personally, I laugh at the notion of anyone considering themselves pure while having engaged in sexual acts. The arguement that one is still a virgin even though they have participated in oral or anal intercourse and yet believe that they are holding to religious doctrine is obsurd to me. They will argue that since thier hymen is intact that they are still a virgin. Like a criminal mastermind that does not actually partake in the crime and yet holds to the belief that they are innocent because of that. Now, I know that there are dozens of deffinitions out there on virginity and anyone can use any of those to support their feellings on this matter. But come on! This is a one way street. Once you start, there is no going back. There are so many wholes in any one deffinition of virgin. One such will void all men of being a virgin. Another would view any women without an intact hymen a virgin even if she has not participated in intercourse.

I know people have probably posted about this subject before but I would like to hear from you anyways. So let me have it, the can is open.

CW, No I don't think all foreplay would make a person a non-virgin. I don't believe that there is such a thing as "born again virgin" and unfortunatley, through not fault of his or hers own, a molested victim is not a virgin either. (depending on the specifics) So let me have it. I said it and I'm prepared to to burned for it.

a person, esp. a woman, who has never had sexual intercourse
Okay i googled. Seems to be very much a debate...

    Some agree with you.

Bottom line is this. Perhaps you can call me a romantic?

If a woman experiments but doesn't go "all the way", with a man, the man will always, always class her as a Virgin and his Virgin and she his.. fact.

If a woman is molested, sorry too... But it was not of her free will and hense, she has the right to know so, and the right to give freely with knowledge of such and consequently both feeling that she is virginal.

If a woman explores, but holds onto that final act. My opinion she is a virgin. Regardless, my opinon if not taken from her.

If she is a woman who holds out.... She can class herself after 12 or more months as a born again virgin, as she could have done it 10 fold.

Bottom line is, it's how you perceive it.

Very good debate, no knocking that.. People will have 10 thousand opinons.

If you slept with someone you wanted to, lost your viriginity in the truest form, then tried to claim to be a virgin because you made a mistake? gong..... no way.

    I agree to disagree...

If you act in foreplay but haven't penetrated, as the first quote and the olden days quote says, Virgin.

If your taken against your will.... Then mentally your still a Virgin because it was against your will.

But i understand your logical reply, i still will call that foreplay, everything but....

    Best see what others say?

    I feel.

In my opinion, the definition of virginity is narrowminded and needs rethinking. Take for example, homosexuals can have sex and still be classed as virgins.

For me, any intimate act that involves stimulation and both participants wanting this stimulation to result in an orgasm, counts as sex.

As for people that were molested, im with CW, physically theyre no longer a virgin, but youve got to take both the emotional and physical act into consideration....its just not fair for someone to have their virginity 'taken' from them.

    Great topic.

physical definition: a person who has never had sex
religious definition: a woman who has had no carnal knowledge of a man

in the physical definition, sexual intercourse is defined as 1)Sexual activity that involves vaginal, anal, or oral penetration 2)vaginal intercourse, anal intercourse, fellatio or cunnilingus between persons regardless of sex. Penetration, however slight, is sufficient to complete vaginal intercourse, anal intercourse or fellatio and does not require emission of semen. Penetration may be committed by an object manipulated by the actor into the genital or anal opening of the body. 3)heterosexual intercourse involving penetration of the vagina by the penis

It boggles my mind that teens these days consider themselves virgins if they have oral or anal sex. Especially anal sex. There is penetration involved there in the genital region which may or may not result in orgasm.
IMO... if it weren't considered sex then it wouldn't be termed oral SEX or anal SEX. By definition, your no longer a virgin even if you have had oral sex. I personally am a bit iffy on that. The male receiving the oral may no longer be a virgin but the female giving... I feel that she is still a virgin. No question about anal sex though, I believe once you have gone there you are no longer a virgin. I don't believe foreplay counts as losing your virginity but I do believe that once genitals have touched or been even slightly penetrated, your no longer a virgin.

The hymen is not a factor as many times it is not intact anyway due to horseback riding or bike riding or even falling down hard on your butt can tear it.

Born again virgin? Hmmm, maybe in the mentle sense but impossible physically. I do understant the thought behind it though. Been there a time or two myself

Molested. Not fair but still, physically, not a virgin. However, I wholeheartedly support them in their feeling of being a virgin as the choice was not thier's.

BTW, this is not from a medical standpoint this is personal POV

Agreed if anal, then your no longer a Virgin "there"... Oral, then your not a virgin there.

So be that as it may....

If a female has NOT been penetrated "there", guess what?

I stated, "There are so many wholes in any one deffinition of virgin. One such will void all men of being a virgin. Another would view any women without an intact hymen a virgin even if she has not participated in intercourse."

I meant to say ...There are so many wholes in any one deffinition of virgin. One such will void all men of being a virgin. Another would view any women without an intact hymen a nonvirgin even if she has not participated in intercourse.

Sure in the pureest form but not in the reality... If it happenend from say, horseback riding, perhaps, but who's to judge? If she never had full penetration, what if she doesn't bleed because she rode a horse ie)? Any woman whom has not had full penetration in her virgina is a Virgin.

    CW

And, any woman whom not willingly had it, in my books can class themselves as one.

    Debate... smile....

    What can i say?

Yes true... Symantics in my opinon is not counted... It's based on fact...

If it hasn't happened it hasn't happened...

    You are a Virgin....

You have not done it to it's fullest extent.

Rightly so for believing that fact.

What is funny is those deep south American towns, where none of the girls can even poo properly any more, but they're all still virgins and holding to their religious doctrines and not going to (actually, this word is censored - errr) the place where bad people go when the die.
