Again I have more concerns about my first. Here are some things I wish would be answered for me!!
-What is the best position for two people with no sex backgrounds
-what are some tips to make the first easy and fun(if it can be)
-are there any pre-sex things to prep me for sex
- what brands of condoms/ protection do you prefer? I hear trojans are the best.
-is spermicide really effective, and can that be substitued in for lubrication?
-any hints/tips/ tricks that will help me!?

- I would say missionary, it's emotionally connected and easy to figure out....

- Lots of foreplay, give each other oral, get him to give you a massage, music you like, candels, blah blah.

- In a way I'd say this is something for him to sort out, personally, a lot of condoms give me trouble, I went through like 6 types before I found one that didn't irritate me... It seemed like a lot of them were too small, even though I'm pretty sure I'm average size... Anyway, maybe get him to get a couple of different brands, and try them on on his own, get used to it. I'd also generally say the thinner the better. I've never used spermicide, but my opinion would be to stay away from it, not sure it's a great idea to get cell-poisoning/killing stuff around in sensitive areas.

Above all just don't listen to much to your friends who say it hurts, who probably haven't even had sex yet they just want to be "cool". Sure, it'll be a bit uncomortable to start with, but the more agitated and scared you are the worse it'll be, as you need to be completely relaxed and not at all tense.

Even though you view that condoms are his responsibilty, I would suggest that you purchase some just in case. It's been a very long time since I've used condoms but make sure that you get the lubercated with spermicide ones. Condoms are suppossed to be 99.6% effective, the spermicide can help with the other 0.04%. Buy some extra lube as well.

Starting positions: Missionarry and cowgirl. Missionarry for what Anon said the emotional closeness. Tilt your pelvis towards him in this position. Cowgirl for your control. Both are pretty easy positions.

Lots and lots of foreplay. You might want to take a shower with each other before and after.
