My wife and I have been married for 22 years. 99% of folks know that on this site.
One of the little intimacy habits I've gotten into over the years is when we're in bed asleep.

Typically, she and I flip-flop in the bed. We both sleep on our sides. Sometimes we're facing away from eachother, sometimes we face eachother and sometimes we spoon one another. It works out nicely for us because both of us are the same. We kinda flip-flop in some sort of "unison" a lot of times.

Well, a several years ago, I caught myself when I would roll over toward her, just giving her a little kiss on the shoulder. I never really took notice of it until this one time, but when I did, I thought...ok, that's cool.

A year or two after I noticed that I was doing this when I rolled over facing her, she happened to mention to me that she had noticed I did that and that she really loved that I did that. She said it meant a lot to her and that she had grown to expect that when I rolled over (it's all in my sleep, so thank God I continue to do it).

Anyway, probably about a week ago, she rolled over on me and when she did, she kissed my shoulder. I never realized how sweet that came across...but I sleep very lightly, and her doing that really left a lasting impression on me. It was really nice.

I don't know why I feel the need to share this with you, but maybe it's just to attest to the fact that I do realize that it's the small things that make the biggest differences sometimes. It's like telling her you love her when she's asleep, or not poking her when she's unconscious after drinking a bottle of wine...(just joking...seeing if you were still reading).

How very amiable that you still have such a high level of intimacy within your marriage...AND, its good to hear that men recognise that the little things mean just as much (if not more), as the bigger attributes.

I agree it is the little things that are the most special, because sometimes they go unoticed but when they are noticed it means that the person noticing them is really special for seeing them too.
