Unhappy Sex is hurting! Help me please!

I'm 20, and unfortunately I have been so dry sex with my boyfriend has been hurting. If we don't have sex for a week, I'm fine, sometimes, but I wonder if it might be because of my birth control. Anyway, I feel like even using lubrication doesn't make me completely comfortable. What should I do? It scares my boyfriend a bit, and it puts a bit of a strain on our sexual relationship.

It happens. Women can't always be ready to go and the drop of a dime. I wish I could, but it's not possible. Usually right before and right after my period, I'm not as wet as I am normally. I'm not a big fan of lubrication either, but it does help, and after intially putting it on, you don't even notice. Just make sure you get a water based lubricant as opposed to oil based. As for why you are dry, your birth control could play a role, a change in diet, or stress.

Also make sure you are drinking enough water! If you're not getting the appropriate water intake, you will have more trouble producing your natural lubricant. I notice a hug difference in how quickly I become wet, and how much lubricant I have based on my water intake.

One other thing...give your b/f a little responsibility in this arrangement. In a very real sense, it's his job to get you wet enough. Make sure you don't overlook the pleasure of allowing yourselves to get really turned on by having PLENTY of foreplay. Sex is great. Sex is great after some foreplay. Sex is awesome after she's sooooo turned on she could rape me. My point is just make sure you're taking your time and allowing your body to work the way it was made to work. Don't feel guilty about taking some serious time and letting him put some energy into getting you ready.

Also, if he goes "downtown" that may be helpful to you. Don't forget that little trick!

Good luck.

I actually have this problem quite a bit and I feel your pain. My husband can't help but think it's because I'm not turned on or into it but that is so not the case. I can't say what the problem is as I don't know myself, but I can offer some suggestions. Like Fire said, have him go down on you. That's an instant fix right there. Not just the stimulation it provides, but his saliva is lubrication enough. Tell him not to be afraid to be drooly. Haha. Sometimes if we just want to get into the act, he'll use his spit as a lube. It sounds gross and never fails to make me giggle but it works. Just a little on his hand and he'll put it either on himself or directly on me. You have to have a pretty comfortable relationship for that one though. I've used lube a couple times. I find it gets me too wet (like a slip n slide) and it just feels unnatural. Not to mention if you want to go down on each other before you're finished, it kills the mood when you get up to wash. You could also try a vibrator. I can't not get wet with vibe play. Either you do it to yourself or better yet, have him use it on you. Good luck!
