    Default Help with male OB

I am pregnant with Twins. I have always seen female ob/gyn and my first child was with an all female ob/gyn. They have since stopped delivering babies. My new ob is female, but I have been referred to a male specialist since I will be 35 and have twins. In my first pregnancy, I did not have a pelvic exam between the first visit and 39 weeks. My friend, also preg. with twins is saying the specialist wants to do a pelvic at every visit to check the cervix. Does this sound necessary? If so, does anyone have advice on how I can get comfortable with it? It has me nervous to tears at this point.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Well first of alll just calm down the stress you are feeling is not good for either you or your unborn babies. No matter what sex your dr is they will treat you with respect and put you the patient first. As you know when ever you get a pelvic there is alway a nurse in the room. Well that is for your safety and to protect the dr's rights as well. The advise i will give you is to give this dr a chance you might find him to be knowlagable in your pregnancy and your other dr must be confadent with his practising medicine. I hope this helps.
