    Default Trend or You?

Yeah, starting as many threads as I can think of what?

So, I am checking out all the fashion and sometimes I get peeved, it's like it's either based on the young for the way old?

Doesn't seem to be an in-between.

I am fortunately creative and can put leggings, with long white shirts, make up high heels and unusual jewelry to make it unique for an example.

But how do you feel about what's out there to purchase to wear today?

Smock how ever you spell it type tops, diamante style ahhh, dresses not long enough for us tall ones, a lot of , did that word show? No edit, posting c r a p ...

Paisley back to the 70's some i actually do like...

What do you like that you have found in today's fashion?

    Me answer last haha.

Have you seen More magazine? I discovered it about a year ago, it's a mag for women over 40. It's refreshing not to have all the models who are 17 yr old twiggy wanna bes. They do fashion showing the current fashion, a funner version and a more conservative look. Lots of good stuff on work and health for the 40 plus crowd.

WildChild, I am hopeful that you are over 40, otherwise I could take that as an insult

But no, I will google it and see? I am a fan of Ezybuy, Apart in particular, way sexy, but classy.. Very different and lady like whilst still maintaining your youth..

    Swapping with you there

I really don't like the kiddys clothes that seem to be everywhere, I agree, it's kind of everything is for plus size, or else teenagers WHAT ABOUT ME? IT ISN'T FAIR... haha.

I'll be sure to have a look thanks... I am finding on-line buying to be the best... People also ask where did you get that? Which is way better than rocking up somewhere and 3 people are wearing the same thing as you.

I've happily passed the half century mark, so yes I'm over 40 and then some! I'm enjoying it. I assumed you were over 40 because of the maturity of your thinking, even an astute and insightful young person usually lacks a certain level to their thinking when it comes to people.

I know what you mean about clothes. I have no desire to look like a teen ager - they don't set my standards, nor do I have any interest in dressing like grandmother did in the 60s and 70s. While I'll do it occasionally for a concert, I don't really go for the aged hippy look either. That does seem to be the choice range. Cold Water Creek caters to middle aged women but I don't have the comfortable middle age spread that they design for. I worked hard to get the weight off and get my body back, I don't go for he (dare I say it) slutty look but I don't want to look like I'm wearing a tent either. It can be a challenge. I do sew but really don't have time for the nicer stuff. One resourse I've found is higher end thrift and consignment shops. My area has enclaves with a lot of money (wish I could figure out how to get some of it coming my way) so the Junior Assistance League shops and such are great. I got a nice Donna Karan jacket for a $1 on clearance recently and got my daughter a $300 prom dress with the tags still on it for $35. That allows me to have some really nice classic stuff in my wardrobe.

    I'll check out EzyBuy. Thanks!

Well yes, but? You don't have to have false nails... Bleached blonde hair, high heels..to be a good fashionist of today...
    '
Don't get caught up with 'keeping with the trend" that is certainly not what I meant in this thread, as fashion...

I don't folllow the sheep, I make my own lamb.. bahh. And Tom Cruise has to do more than smile. (SMILE) love that word now.

I was just flipping through a magazine yesterday and commented to a friend that I don't like any of the fashion that is out there right now. I've never been on to dress with what is popular at the time but now I can't even piece a few things together to make something funky and my own. It's really frustrating.

Sourpuss, don't know how old you are, but More magazine - targeted to women over 40 does some great practical fashion, showing the fashion, how to tone it down a bit or jazz it up, so they show three variations. They also show you how to get a high dollar look at much lower prices. Even if you aren't in that age range, it may give you some ideas

I still love EZIBUY, it's fashionable, different, affordable, and order online and feel like a suprise when it arrives, makes you feel good.

What i hate the most is trying to find tops for work? Like they are all paisly, and tight, or baggy like pregnant tops or else don't fit my boobs lol.

    That's frustrating.

I'm 32, which is tough because you can still dress young but you probably shouldn't. Haha.
I do hate the maternity tops. It's because everyone has bellies they need to cover up. Well they don't work for those of us who don't have bellies, or boobies.
