alright. i will admit it: i'm no good at christmas shopping. i love getting things for people to let them know how important they are to me, and to sort of thank them for everything they do for me. but i always have a hard time. girls kind've easier. with my friends, you can't go wrong with jewelry or something cute like that. but WHAT DO GUYS WANT???!!! i have a guy friend i want to get something for. we're kind of close, and maybe getting closer. i don't know. but regardless, i want to get him something nice. i have known him for over four years, but i don't know what to get him. i don't want anything huge, or flashy, just something small and nice, but honestly, i'm stumped. HEY GUYS! DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEAS??? WHY IS IT SO HARD TO SHOP FOR THE MALE SPECIES!!??

Food. I always get my dad a bunch of beef jerky, summer sausage, cheese and crackers. He loves it.

Sexual favours make great presents, regardless of your relationship ...

Bottles of whisky usually go down a treat with real men...

Things which shoot things.... Like an office crossbow are also always winners.

I guess to a lesser extent we don't mind getting stuff like clothes/watches/hats/scalfs blah blah.

But throwing your knickers at someone is the best present of all.

If you know he likes Pocket Knives, I do, then maybe a inexpensive 1 that is Handsomely made with engraving of some sort, your name, or whatever you'd like.

If you'd like a suggestion on a brand let me know, I have collected a few myself. If he likes to read, that would be another, I've received some really nice books at this time of yr. I like Anons' suggestion on things that shoot.

    ROOOOOOOOOOOOO,
you say your friends and getting closer, i am sure you were over his house a few times. did you take note of his room and whats in it? i am sure you seen the items he owns.
    examples,
-does he have a great stereo? a big music collection? a favorite band? if so maybe a CD or if a concert is coming around with a band he likes possible get tickets to it.
-maybe a 1/2 decent mp3 player. it doesnt have to be very expensive but somewhat decent to last.
-if he collects certain things, get a new one of it.
-does he drive, maybe something for his car.
-almost anything electronic. (its a guy thing just as shoes for women)
-if he is handy with tools and/or monkey wrench, maybe some tools

bottom line is find his intrest and try going that route first. if your just friends with a little more than the other guy and want to get him jewerly, maybe a nice necklace or watch. but dont go too fancy yet, not untill you have something going.
if he is a real person and not materialistic, its the thought of the present and not the present itself. especially around christmas knowing that there are usually others to shop for also. its the amount of thought in a present not the amount of money.
i can be happy with whatever my friends/family or (when i had one) g/f gave me rather than what amount they spent on me. receiving something from someone is far more better to thought of than putting a price tag on an object.

Well I cant vouch for outher men....but i prefer things i can use...it can be anything from gloves..... to something for the house....to grilling utensils....What does he like to do?...does he have hobbies....is their anything he needs.....

My best gifts were always things like that....they dont have to be expensive...sometimes the little things bring the most joy.

....A woman with nothing but a ribbon wraped around her....would be quite a gift to remember...
If it wasn't for the bad times.... We wouldn't appreciate the good ones!

What type of guy are you buying for. Manly man, nerd, adventurous guy....

Just think to yourself what is the stereotype of what guys love.
    • Action (anything fast, and adrenaline pumping skydiving bungee jumping etc.)
    • Adventure ( Travel somewhere, anything outdoors
    • FOOD ( I'm hungry)
    • Women (Dress yourself up for him and make it a night just for him)
    • Toys (self explanatory)
    • Tool (self explanatory see note below)
    • Things that go BOOM (self explanatory)
Whatever you do. DONT EVER BUY A GUY A CHEAP ITEM or CHEAP QUALITY ITEM.

example if your going to get him a drill then you should NEVER buy him one that 30 $ because then we are STUCK with it and it annoys us to NO END. Its a EGO thing!

It doesn't have to be top of the line but it should be close.

    or

GO to google type "gifts for men"

    Hope this helps

no. i have never been over to his house. like i said, nothing is really happening yet, and i don't know if it will, but i just wanted something nice for him....sigh....what kind of guy is he??? if you knew him you would understand that it is rather impossible to describe him. he is not like any other person in this world that i have met. lol i do know that he likes those UFC fighting shows, and TAPOUT......but there isn't much i could get for a gift that has to do with that. he already has a TAPOUT shirt....is he adventurous? i guess you could call it that. he's so complicated....finding the right words to describe his personality....is hard.....he likes to drink!! lol. i'm too young to buy alcohol!! lol so is he though. dangitt. he's a stuborn person, and enjoys dirty jokes. lol he's rather independant, and the way i have always thought of him was like he was free. free of the world and himself. i like his ego. now mind you, i don't think ego is a bad thing. it's the ability to think, act, and feel. its the SELF. its knowing who you are, and being aware of your environment, and adapting to it. when you lose, that self, that ego, what are you living for??? again, i don't mean ego as in conceit, and self-righteousness. wow. i got off topic. lol i'm going to buy him cigarrettes and food!!! hahahahaha!!!
