Well, just ot the stunning news last week that I am indeed pregnant. I went in for an Ultrasound but they have yet to find anything. They could not even find a sac forming in there. They estimate me at around 4-5 weeks along but cannot be sure because since I have been off birth control my periods can start anywhre from the 10th of the month to the 30th. This has been extremely upsetting and talk about bad timing!! My b/f and I have decided not to keep this baby as we both are financialy ruined right now and I have no medical to pay for doctors visits, ect. It's been a rough week!
My doctor told me to come back this week for another ultrasound to see if they can find anthing but I am cocerned. I have been having bad backpain, cramping, and have been very "sore" on one side of my abdomen. Have not had any spotting or bleeding though. She did suggest that it is very possible that this is an ectopic pregnancy. Has anyone else out there had an ectopic? And how far alon where you before you found out? My thing right now is that i have to pay for all of this out of pocket and I will be really upset if I go in today and they find nothing... another $160 out the window! Money that I dont even have right now.
I think I still may go today though.. if so I will keep you guys posted on whats happening.

Hi, I had a scare when I was pregnant also. I was spotting at only several weeks along and they thought it may be eptopic. I went in for an ultrasound immediately - which it sounds like you are now doing - good job! But for me, it wasn't eptopic, it was perfectly normal to have some slight spotting. If you do have an eptopic - do not worry about paying for the ultrasound or anything else. The hospital can bill you later and since you are a cash patient they will gladly bill you later as they know they won't have to hassle with billing insurance and having to write-off any agreed to costs. Ask them to bill you, then you can stretch it out for a few months and negotiate payments if needed. I know as I started off my medical career in billing and I have also been in your shoes.
Take care and I hope everything works out for the best.
