Hi ladies. Just a quick question... I'm 22 years old and have been taking the oral contraceptive, cyclessa for four months now and just recently I have started to spot brown. I'm on day 17 of my cycle today and I have only spotted day 16 and 17. Is this normal? It's a very tiny amount, but I'm really worried. I don't have any other symptoms. No burning, itching, smell, etc. I read on the net that it could just be spotting due to ovulation, but I thought the entire purpose of oral contraceptives was to stop ovulation. Just a little confused... thanks for your replies!

I was on the depo and had no period at all but I did have brown discharge that would happen at any given time well when I asked the doctor they said it was just old blood being shed from my uterus. so maybe that is what it is for you too just old blood. another thing that is real important is that you take your pill at the same time each day so that you don't ovulate.
