Thread: need to lose weight and need to exercise, tips??

    Try to pick one day a week for your "diet day off". So you can enjoy yourself.... something to look forward to after 6 days of dieting!. Well this is what our doctor said: if you diet continuously for a long time the body tends to get used to it and the metabolism slows down and the weight loss becomes slower.

    Thanks for all the good info. I've been needing to lose weight since I had my son OVER 2 YEARS AGO (sorry for shouting but I am so sick of myself being lazy) and I really need to do something now. I'll try these ideas, it doesn't sound so hard to do.

    yg. dou you recommend any pills? or do those make the pounds come back, I have been trying to loose weight for a year, but only lost 3 pounds with exercise and healthy eating, so I came to the point of considering some extra help. any help for me?

    I think that the foods that you eat will also play a very important role in helping you to lose weight. Most people do not realise this, but due to years of poor eating habits, many of us have been subconsciously conditioned to overeat, crave fattening foods, and snack unnecessarily. I mean how many times have a person on diet actually choose salad over pizza? What about those secret binges in the middle of the night?

    To really lose weight with exercise, I believe you also need to establish a different relationship with the food that you eat.

    Well I am looking for an extra push, I have lost 60 pounds before this and have tried so much to lose the rest of the weight. I did try pills once and they gave me chest pain. It was literally one of the scariest feelings I ever experienced. I thought I was having a heart attack. I stopped taking the pills, and the chest pain went away. So i don't recommend pills.

    I know that I really need to drink more water and try to eat a little every couple hours. Its hard because my profession doesn't really allow me to do that. So I'm just stuck :-(

    Hi i was reading and you all have some awesome advice. you know I really noticed that walking, and drinking water in itself does wonders. I'm 17 and was 200 pounds, i've only lost 11 pounds in 3 weeks, but considering that the only thing I've changed is no soda, no fasdt food, and exercising more. I'm pretty proud of myself. I try and walk around as much as possible and figit when I'm home alone lol, I probably look crazy but I'm burning calories and no one can see me! =P
    I also have been turning music on in my house (upbeat tempo kinda stuff) and just dance around lol. It really makes a difference and your having fun not even realizing that calories are being burned.
