I'm going to start taking apple cider vinegar {ACV} tomorrow Feb. 15th 2009 in hopes it will help me lose weight. I'm 41, 5'5" and weigh 150 ish lbs. YUKE!!
I want to get to 130 ish lbs. I'm not ready to start wearing a one piece bathing suit but definitly not in shape to wear a bikini this summer.
I have been taking OTC pills to help but I'm not watching what I eat well enough and not exercising regularly either so not seeing any difference. I'm taking a daily multi vitamin, Centrum Silver, B-12 tablet- 1000 mcg, a day, Colon Health capsule one a day and just bought a liquid B-complex suppliment.
I have a friend who takes ACV and I wanted to give it a try to see if I'd have any luck with it. I want to get away from the chemical diet suppliments and go a more healthy way of weight loss.
Has anyone tried this? What is your experience with it?
Thanks, Jeana

Do we not realise that in order to find a soul
It doesn't happen over night
if truth were to be told.
Like everything in life that's hard to achieve
you must believe!
I currently drink Apple Cider Vinegar and I completely believe it has tremendous benefits. In fact I was told by an older woman whom I work with that apple cider vinegar is known to help with various ailments such as colds, upset stomach and it aids in weight loss. I researched it quite a bit on the internet and there were very conflicting views as to whether or not there were any studies or clinical trials to prove that it does help with weight loss. I'm sure that many of the sources were unreliable, but I figured I would give it a try. I have lost a total of 10lbs in two months. Granted I eat extremely healthy and I exercise 60 minutes, 6 days a week. However, acv did help when I hit that dreaded plateau. Also, I don't know if this is just a coincidence, but I noticed an overall firmness in my stomach and on the back of my thighs where celulite is prown to occur... I don't know if this is from the acv though. It isn't a miracle that's for sure and to be completely honest, it tastes awful. I put 2 tablespoons in 8-12 ounces of water and I have to put sweetner in it just to get it down. I hope this helps! Good luck in your weight loss goals!
Oh one last thing... I buy braggs apple cider vinegar. It is organic and has the "mother" in it, which is supposedly why acv is so beneficial. Without that in it, acv isn't very helpful. You can find it at any health food store, but you might want to try to avoid the acv sold at big name grocery stores... they usually don't carry the braggs brand!
