I don't mean to put a damper on any positive experiences others may have had with CC. I myself have never tried it, but have come across some info on reputable health sites (the below is from WebMD) that note CC may be unnecessary.

    "Is natural colon cleansing needed?
Are bowel movements enough to clear the colon? Or is it true that the only thing that can really clear the colon is a colon cleanser? It is likely the colon doesn't need this kind of help. Here are some reasons why:

Natural bacteria in the colon detoxify food wastes.
    The liver also neutralizes toxins.
Mucus membranes in the colon keep unwanted substances from reentering the blood and tissues.
The colon sheds old cells about every three days, preventing a buildup of harmful material.
The normal number of bowel movements varies from person to person. It may be as often as a few times a day or as little as a few times a week.
Increasing the number of bowel movements doesn't improve weight loss. That's because the body absorbs most calories before they reach the large intestine."

I found this info interesting when I first came across it. Hope it helps in some way. You can Google for more info if you want. Look for good medical websites, which tend to give you a more balanced discussion than do the ones maintained by product advertisers

Hi. I did Colonix colon cleanse last year. I loved it....lost 12 lbs in a week...basically of poopy...YUCK!!!! Made me have tons of energy...you get bogged down with all that in your colon. A friend of mine is doing one right now. Essentially the colonix was a fiber drink in the morning...a couple of parasite killing pills, and a laxative tea at night. The laxative tea wasn't bad...it didn't make you rush to the bathroom or anything. I always start my spring diet with a colon clean out. This year I just bought some laxative tea at my natural food store called smooth move and one of their colon cleansing products...saved myself about $50 compared to the colonix but only lost 6 lbs.in the week. As someone else said there is so much info on the web about the pros and cons of colon cleansing. I trust natural doctors more than pharma-bribed Md's try looking up Dr. Mercola and see what he has to say about it.

Maybe a natural alternative for cleaning your colon might be psyllium husk?
I am using mucillium right now (but for a different reason) and having used a colon cleanser before, I am finding the results are similar (movement wise)
I do know the mucillium, is available over the counter, it does taste rather...gross, but day 3 right now, I'm surprised, haven't noticed any of the watery bowel movements, like colon cleansers are known for (runs with toots:S)
    Hope this helps.

Please be careful with this it can be harmful if you flush your body of much needed potassium. Recently we have had a family emergency with something similar and this person flushed herself out too many times and her heart stopped twice as a result. She too was trying to lose those few extra pounds. She was very lucky and survived after a few weeks in Intensive care. Eating plenty of fruits and veggies should take care of your colon without flushing.
