Skin boil?

Does anyone know anything about skin boils? Just today i felt irritation on my upper inner thigh...It looks inflamed and and painful to touch . Should i see my doctor for this or is there any home remedies you know of? Never experienced this before and am not really sure that is what this is...Thanks!

Went to the doc yesterday and it is actually a cyst! Im on antibiotics to see if that will take care of it...thanks for the advice!
