Default How does having had a gastric bypass effect pregnancy?

My co-worker just found out she was 3 months pregnant. She had a gastric bypass in september of 06. She wasn't suppose to get pregnant for atleast a year after the surgery. What should she be doing? How does a past gastric bypass effect pregnancy?

After gastric bypass it is possible to have a healthy pregnancy long as proper procedures are followed.

Not a problem at all. I had a bypass in March of 05 and had a baby in Feb 08. The baby will get the nutrition it needs from the mama... she just needs to make sure she is taking her vitamins so she doesnt get depleted.
