Alot of you are taking tablets to try to lose weight and off course, watching what you are eating.

    This is an "honesty" thread.

(I am taking tablets too but to quit smoking) and so, I am also conscious of what I am eating.

So I thought an encouragement thread would help those whom are trying to loose weight, even if you had a burger, it's okay, this is about maybe seeing what others eat and getting that around in your head, yeah i can do that, and do it, or, today I had KFC, but to then re-read what "you" personally ate the past few days, perhaps you can say, phew, was all good for a week, or you may say, ahhhh I have to stop this.

The only way to keep on track is to keep record so ready?

Today: I was bad, I had no breakfast, left over schnitzel and mash potatoes (with butter) for lunch, but, I then made an awesome beef and vegetable soup, clearing all the fat as best that I could and had that for dinner.

    1 out of 3 is a start.

    LOL, good for you.

OMG, I had sultana bran with 1/2 banana for breakfast, beef and veg soup ( all fat removed) for lunch but did have 1/2 a bread roll with a little butter, and well eating in a sec, boiled chicken roasted on light oil for 30 mins, baked beetroot? lol never tried, with garlic, 1/2 potato baked, tomatoes backed, and carrots, with lemon pored on them, so did good today, not yesterday..

Thanks GemGem, it's one think to take tablets ( remember I am doing that for smoking) it's another to tell the truth about the food for the day..

    Well done..

We can do this you know that, I have faith in you...

K tomorrow that promise better be good haha... i think you did okay anyways..

I had a pop tart this morning, baked chicken with no skin, salad and a few fritos with a little spinach dip for lunch (we had a baby shower) not sure what I will have this evening. So I guess it was an okay day, oh I have raw carrots for a snack this afternoon.

    I'll jump on the bandwagon...

Slimfast shake for breakfast, banana for snack, since it's payday we got out of the building for lunch (my husband works with me) and had a taco salad minus refried beans. For dinner we are having Mahi Mahi with some rice and veg.

Water mostly to drink, 1 cup of coffee this am and a coke zero for lunch.

Craved for eggs again so boiled two with toast for breakfast, had a cup of soup for lunch, and then grilled fish, mussells and salmon with olives for dinner.. Think I did good today....

What a good idea CW! Keeping a food diary makes you more aware of what you are putting into your body. I don't 'diet' but have been working on getting back to a healthier eating pattern since I let some unhealthy habits develop, mostly to do with portions. I kind of changed treats into my major food group- dark chocolate. LOL

Since I've been sick I lost my appetite, starting to get it back today
breakfast: bowl of cheerios, sliced banana on top (organic), 1% milk (organic - don't care for nonfat)
Snack: orange and some graham crackers
Lunch: small bowl of hot and sour soup
Dinner: rice and veggies with just a wee bit of chicken thrown in

    Lots of water

    yesterday I had

    breakfast:
corn tortillas x2 and cheese with red chille

    snack:
coffee with caramel and soy milk

    Lunch
    tofu, cucumber, rice, soybeans

    Snack
    Chocolate bar

    Dinner
    white roll
    veggie burger

    Snack
    almonds and apricots and crackers

I regret the chocolate bar, I have them about once every few months. But still shouldn't have went there. I regret the white roll, it was too big I should have eaten half and I regret the crackers, the nuts and apricots were enough.

I always check myself at the end of the day: what did I eat? what are some better choices I could have made ? I don't beat myself up when I do things like the chocolate bar, when I indulge.. I try to do so consciously as much as possible. To make a decision to go off plan, enjoy it as part of life and move on. But that doesn't stop me from giving myself advice on what I could have done instead of that choice to guide me in the future.

I don't follow a low carb diet, but I see looking back on yesterday that I really carbed it up and should not go overboard like that any time soon.

Never regret! You are worth a bit of indulgence. When you do go for a treat get the best you can and NO regrets - that takes the pleasure from it. Some dark chocolate is good for you, it's a MUFA. A Godiva truffle, a reasonable sized slice of black forest cake, some banana foster... a little indulgence is sensual and good for you just don't over do.

As for the roll- why not whole grain? Tasty and healthier. Again, so what? It's one roll. You didn't eat 10 or pig out on a giant bag of fried, greasy chips!

Being good to yourself means eating healthy and having some pleasure food too. Where most mess up is too much, too often and eating the cheap junk - it isn't that good, not indulging with deliberation and focus but mindlessly and compulsively is a problem. SO when you do indulge make an occasion of it!
