hi i hope someone can shed a little light on this for me.

my wife litterly overnight changed into a very moody person she is 42 and had a partial hysterectomy about 5 years ago.her normal attitude is usually pretty passive and she is usually pretty affectionate.but for about the last 4 months sexual contact is almost 0 and i seem to be getting in trouble for almost every little thing including stuff that happens at her work.i have put on other posts about the whole sex thing and someone suggested it could be the start of meopause.so the help i am looking for is first off is it possible at 42 for this to happen and any advise on a good way to appraoch her on this would be great.i am trying to be patient but it is hard to deal with and i am just looking for clues as to what is going on. just a little example saturday she was upset because the grass was long and i hadnt cut it yet i cut it later that day and then she was mad because some of it went into her garden wich by the way has no flowers in it yet.

First things first. Why not encourage her (and you) to get a full physical including blood work and hormones? Find out if there is anything there to account for this change? Every woman is different, at 42 she could be perimenopausal.

Personally I'm a big believer in the role of diet, exersize and attitude. This might be a good time for you to start doing some research and become a health nut? Might help her and won't do you any harm. There are number of books on this subject, I like, Food and Mood. Foods are chemicals and chemicals regulate everything in our bodies including our emotions. The author explains what effect various foods have. Another thing to look at is BGH in dairy and meats, those hormoes can act as receptors in the human body and really mess things up. Many professionals attribute this unnatural hormone exposure to the earlier onset of menstration in young girls. It can also affect adults. When we hit a time in our lives when our body is making a shift and there is something in there throwing it out of gear it a small wonder that it causes behavior changes. At least it would be a place to start.

Yeah aren't hormones great! Sometimes but really they just create a whole lotta problems when they are out of wack!

you really are not to blame for what is going on at work.

Yes at 42 is it certainly possible that she is going into Menopause. The main thing is that it is not you that is to blame and that this can be a very difficult time for her. Loss in her libido is a symptom and she must see her doctor to find out what is going on. She may find relief in Hormone Replacement Therapy. It may be uncomfortable for her to have sex, some women experience extreme dryness down there. She is very lucky to have a husband that cares so much and who is so supportive. Good Luck and encourage her to see the doctor.
