Wow! i can't believe I found this thread -- or that there's EVEN a thread for sleep apnea and weight loss! I found this website searching for an Apidexin forum for weight loss.

Guess I'll be spending some time here. I am on a Sleep Apnea forum and joined an association. I was going to post there about losing weight and getting rid of apnea at the same time.

I have severe obstructive sleep apnea and use a cpap all the time! I can actually sleep now!

    Who knew?

    Lightbulb

I still don't have a Cpap machine but I know my sleep apnea is better. It is annoying sometimes because I can tell by morning I had episodes but it is getting better. I've lost 53lbs since April 16, 2009 and I feel great. I hope more women with sleep apnea who are over wight can do the same thing! I still have 58lbs to go but I'm already about half way there!!! I was side tracked though due to use of Aspartame a horrible sugar substitute I knew nothing about. The ZERO CALORIES! part is what got me. I never questioned how a sugar sub could be so good but I was wrong. I had so many of the side affects from using it. Including headaches, dizziness, muscle spasms, weight gain, depression, fatigue, irritability, anxiety attacks, and joint pain. I stopped using sugar substitutes all together on Sunday Aug 16th and by Tuesday the 18th I felt so much better. I found Aspartame is Wyler's drink mixes (only 5 cal per serving-that's what got me!) and sugar packets i would use in my coffee. I'm doing great now and I've lost 3lbs in one week! What a difference.

It's used far more in Europe. If you can access some European sites you may find better info.

yea i've heard of Stevia but are there known side affects yet? i haven't seen it in stores here yet but I've looked. I decided to just cut the sweeteners out completely and I'm doing great. . Yea I'm pretty sure those symptoms were from the Aspartame.

stevia is from a plant like sugar, but good on you for doing away with sweeteners, its not as if you NEED them. how is the excercise going. i am walking every day and doing yoga and belly dancing. i feel a lot firmer and a tight pair of jeans now fit nicely, dont know if i've lost any weight though.

I've been walking between 2 and 8 miles everyday and when I can I go on an Elliptical machine my friend brought to work. I've lost 54.1 lbs now and I know I still have more work to do. Thank you so much for ur support. It really helps me and motivates me to keep trying!
