Default Worried on first month of Apri birth control

I am on my last week of my first month of Apri birth control. I had unprotected sex with my boyfriend on the first day of my fourth week, i had finished all my hormone pills. Also the day I took it was way past when I should have ovulated. However, I am now on my third day of placebo pills, and my period was due today because I have 28 day cycles and last had my peirod on the 26th of may. Does birth control change my cycle and when my period is due? I can't seem to figure this out. Also, should I be protected for pregnancy? My boyfriend went to the bathroom before we had sex to flush out any sperm from being in his pre-ejaculate, and we also used the pull out method successfully, he did not ejaculate in me at all. Thank you very much.

I would say you're not pregnant. As long as you did not miss an active pill during the four weeks you've been using Apri, you would not be unprotected during the week of the placebo pills. Also, if your boyfriend didn't ejaculate inside you (or at least very little, you can never be too sure with the withdrawal method) there should be a low chance of pregnancy.

Birth control can change your period dates a little, but they shouldn't be too out of wack. My period generally comes on the fourth day of taking the inactive pills, so that just goes to show they take a while to kick in. However, if this is only your first cycle of taking Apri, it's quite normal for it to be a little out of wack, as your body is still adjusting to the pill.

Like I said, I highly doubt you're pregnant, so don't stress. If you still feel unsure however, I suggest calling a doctor.

If you miss your period twice in a row though, I would advise to definitely call a doctor.

    Hope that's helped.

    Default flushed it out??

isn't there two different little 'tunnels'? One for urine and one for ejaculate?
I could be wrong, I'm no doctor so I could be wrong, but I don't think using the bathromm 1st really makes a difference.
But I do agree with the others, your probably fine.

Just get a pregnancy test kit or better yet, for a more reliable result, have a doctor's appointment and get a blood test - it is more reliable.

On your first month, your period is almost guaranteed to be loopy. I've been on TriNessa for like 9 months now and my period is still ALWAYS a few days date. Since its your first month, your body needs time to adjust to the hormones that it's taking in.. So you may get a period and it may be over within a few days or last a few weeks, or you might not be getting a period at all.
I'm like 95% sure that you're NOT pregnant so long as you took all your active pills. Did you doctor recommend you use a back-up method throughout the entire month? Generally, you're protected after about a week of taking your pill.
Also, stop stressing! If you keep stressing, your period will most likely be delayed even more. Relax!
