Personnallly, I am allergic to the sun. I sneeze and get hives when th wweather is nice.

I don't know about the hives part, but as for the sneezing I have the exact same thing, and I too thought it was allergies. Everyone, including my own mother laughed at me whenever I went from inside to outside because I sneezed each and every single time. With zero actual allergies even my own doctor chuckled when I asked what in the world would make me sneeze every time I went outside, she had no answer. It is very annoying, but I do know what it is. It is called ACHOO syndrome, no word of a lie. I was sitting in my genetics class one day and Mike the prof decided to make us laugh with some genetic mutation examples that result in some things that are relatively uncommon. Low and behold there on the list was "ACHOO syndrome - a genetic autosomal dominant trait that results in the photic sneeze reflex" (sneezing when exposed to bright light). Well I almost burst out laughing because I finally had the answer to the question that my G.P could not answer, what in the world makes me sneeze when I go outside. Turns out Mike the Ph.D geneticist also has the same thing, and when he said who else does I apprehensively held up my hand while laughing. Good times. I can now go out and joke about it because I consider myself an appropriate 'mutant' for that particular trait.

but we found out he's allergic to about 31 different types of food.. its an IGg allergy so he doesn't get the reaction instantly...

i am allergic to grass.

It's not really weird, but chlorine. I just cannot swim in pools if they are too clean lol

ok....where to begin. I am allergic to Aloe vera, Agave (which is what they make tequila out of) and Eucalyptus.
Found aout about the aloe allergy after using some aloe based moistrizer and got hives that looked more like blisters.
Agave, had a shot of tequila once and broke out in hives.

Eucalyptus....well it almost killed me, twice! My mother is Eastern Cherokee and Iroquois, so growing up trips to the doctor we not necessarily commonplace. We have always used herbal remedies. One of them being eucalyptus in boiling hot water and using the steam to clear up congestion. Well I think I was maybe 5 had a really bad cold and my mom did the same thing that she had done for my brother and sister, the eucalyptus remedy. The only problem was that it made me worse (A LOT WORSE) rather than better. So off we went to the hospital. More recently I was working in Santa Barbara, CA during the tea Fire - now keep in mind most of what was burning was eucalyptus- there was ash falling, smoke in the air and I had a reaction. You know you're in bad shape when the people at Urget Care tell you that you need to go to the hospital emergency room! The thing is, as long as the eucalyptus trees near my house are not dripping sap or sending off a lot of smell I'm fne. But if there is a fire burning eucalyptus...I'l be inside with the A/C going.

I'm allergic to pine, juniper, ceader, cats, and laundry detergent.
I used to tell people that I was allergic to fish so I wouldn't have to eat it lol

anytime I have to leave the house my nose itches terribly. and gets worse when I do reach outside. what's that about?

There is a difference between an allergy and a sensitivity. Allergies show up on a test. Sensitivities may not. Allergies can be treated, sensitivities require that you avoid the irritant. I have both. I been through the whole allergy shot thing (if you move more that 60? miles you may have to it all over again) and have quite a list of things that I avoid. Sensitities can vary depending on your exposure levels. Sometimes you can get crossover reactions, where you get hyper sensitised to something you don't normally react to. Stress (positive and negative) can alter your reactions too.

In theory I'm allergic to (tested) grasses, most trees, actually most plants, and some foods including beets (think sugar). Yet the only plant I actually am aware of a reaction to is geraniums. I can't stand to get anywhere near them. I spend a lot of time outdoors, roll around in the grass, like to garden - no reaction. So I'm not too sold on allergy tests.

I can't tollerate any artifical or highly concetrated (essenial oils) floral scents but have no trouble with real flowers. I cannot tollerate exposure to chemical fertilizers, and have reacted pretty severely to pesticides. Incense, air "fresheners", scented drier sheets and scented candles drive me nuts - can't get away from it fast enough.

I am absolutely intollerant of parabens. The reaction is severe. I had a crossover reaction (no idea to what) that almost hosptialised me with hives. Hives can kill you. You can get then inside as well as on your skin and the can block your airway.

I recently learned that I am latex sensitive. Beside the obvious of gloves and condoms this includes bandaids too. I'm hyper sensitive to carbon monoxide, I react to it at lower levels and more rapidly than most people. Can't handle most deodorant products. I have reacted to spray paint with what looked like eczema and lasted a couple years. One of my sisters who has a science education, figured out that the chemical structure of the paint was essentially a sugar. I took sugar out of my diet for a year and the problem cleared up.

All of this is an immune system malfunction. I'm very hopeful from some of the research for aids and other immune related problems to turn up answers that will help solve the allergy/hypersensitivity thing.

Odd thing is I'm really a very healthy woman. Maybe because I avoid exposure to so many things?

Im alergic to Nickel, gold, chalk, grass, dust mites, penicilan (sorry for the spelling), hair bleach, bleach (clothes), certain soaps oh and 3 unknowns.

I hike so the grass bit is a pain, the Nickel part is annoying when camping outside on the ground or during my favorite trail when we have to walk past a nickel waterfall and I have to hold me breath -_-.

The weird ones were the nickel and gold. Used to work in a jewelry store. My arms blew up, I couldn't move them, they were twice the normal size and extreme pain. Ended up being put on 8 steriods a day..... not fun.
It was a very sad day when I had to get rid of my jewelry.
My boyfriend always jokes "I thought I had good taste, but apparently I have expencive taste" Meaning.... he has issues shopping for me. His newest hunt apparently is trying to find a promise ring.... going to be difficult.

I have a friend who's allergic to chocolate and I thought it's so sad because even herself has to restrain herself from tasting even a tiny bit. Of course our friends would always avoid eating any chocolate whenever we're with her.

I just can't imagine how difficult it could be for you to adapt in an environment given lots of mostly don'ts. I salute you, by the way.
