Help me!

At my first house, I had a a lot of friends and I didn't have to go far b/c they all lived on a circle. I could ride my bikes w/ them and explore. I moved on to my second house where my grandma lived and my cousins. Now, I'm on my third house and I'm too afraid to go outside. I want to takes walks so I won't be bored and I can make friends. I really want to makes friends but I don't know what to say. My dad saids to say hi and ask them about the weather. But what if I seem strange to them and they start to call me retarded and throwing punches. I graduated from school, so can't make friends at school. My dad saids when I get a job I will make friends, but I don't want to wait tthat long! I voulunteer at a hospital, but no one there is my age(I'm 19) Theres a lunch room at the cafeteria, but I'll feel stupid eating alone. I don't have a mother to help me and my dad suck at knowing everthing I'm going tho. He makes fun of it, calls me fat, drunk half the time. I need a friend to talk to about the stuff I'm going tho. I went to a school in Lexington and I had lots of friends there, that I could talk to. But most of the kids who goes to Cotting lives in like differint citites and towns. And none are even close to Salem. I don't like when my dad drives to Boston b/c he always gives me about the gas. I don't drive b/c Im so afraid and everyone saids I need to drive to get to work.

Well you have a computer, and here you can start making some friends to chat to and here you can ask questions and we will answer as best as we can to help you.

Why don't you call all your old friends and see if they have facebook, and create an account you can do that from here as well, and start sharing their lives again?

It's not easy to continually make new friends, I get that. And, you probably haven't quite settled in yet to this 3rd home, in order to see what's out there that you can be involved in with people around your own age...

Start looking to see, ask questions, people your own age must be doing something at nights/weekends that you can join...

Your Dad's naughty for taunting you and calling you fat, that's not going to help your self esteme.. Can, I suggest that you ignore it, when he says it, but to also tell him you don't appreciate it, it hurts and you would like him to stop doing it.

What makes you fear so much about driving? Is it going for the test, learning?

It would be good to get your liscence because at some stage soon you will make friends and you may have to drive to get to them, or going out.

There always has to be a place to start, so I will click "friends" on your page and ask anyone else here that reads, that want's to befriend you to do so as well, at least that's a start for you hey....

I have my permit and I pass driving school, but Im afraid to drive b/c of people being stupid on the road and I might forget what to do. I had a driving teacher but he was making me so nerous b/c guys makes me nerous. I wasn't driving straight and he didn't tell me, he just put his hand on my leg so I would step on the brake. I asked my dad if I can get a women driving teacher but than if its a man giving the test I might get nervous and forget everything!

Whenever I move to a new place it always takes me a bit of time to meet new friends. It's even harder if you're shy too..

Your dad should not call you fat, it is not nice..

I also don't blame you for being scared to drive. Vehicles can move very fast, but it also takes practice to get better at something. Just take it slow, and do only what you're comfortable with..

It takes baby steps in order to create the life we want. We all have to start somewhere so start small and each day try to build on what you got started.

Why do men make you nervous? Are you afraid they will all be like your dad and put you down? Not all men are like that... only some who are very unhappy with themselves. Its not you Sweets its him. You say he is drunk half the time well that sounds like he is masking some pain with alcohol.

There are lots of great stand in mom's on this site that have a daughter your age or have lived a similar circumstance that would be more than will to help you figure some things out, listen to you vent, and help you move forward in life.

There is another post on here about a woman and her abusive mother titled "should I hate my mother" You are not alone Kaleena.

Driving does take practice don't be to hard on yourself. When you get nervous driving stop take some deep breaths calm yourself down. Believe in yourself that you can do it and day by day you will see that you actually can.

Don't buy into the the fat remarks... if you feel you are out of shape then start walking a lil each day and eat better each day. Decide to live healthy for you. The best revenge in life is living a good life in spite of all the jerks out there that are willing to tear you down.

Why not start to make them here as well? Get to know the girls there are plenty here your age, tag along, play in the lounge...

Hi K,
dont let your father define who you are, be whatever you want to be. I can understand what you are going through, it is hard but it is worth it. I came to this country when i was your age, no friends, no family, no ENGLISH...at the end YOU make your own destiny.
Go to the public library, they have free activities...Believe in yourself, dont be afraid.
You are just as "special" as any other person on this planet, you have a lot to give and a lot more to receive. Being Shy is just not allowing you to make new friends, i know your father had told you many things that you probably think are true, but just remember only if you allow them to be true. Not having your mom with you also makes you feel bad about yourself, but listen there is nothing you can do about their decision, you are only responsible for what YOU DO.
Stay possitive, stay happy, remember who you are and what you want.
