So I have two beautiful dogs and they are in need of a new bed to sleep on...They are so expensive in the store so I decided to purchase fabric and make one myself. The only thing I'm worried about is washing it..so right now I sewed it and it looks like a pillow case, and I am going to stuff it and close it up so it looks like one big pillow...Do you think it would be able to go in the washer without getting ruined? Or do you think I should put the stuffing in something and then use the fabric I bought as a cover so I can remove it and wash it every so often?

Make it with a washable, removable cover. The entire bed could be very difficult to launder. Velcro works great to fasten it closed.

Something a friend of mine did for his German Shepherd was shell out the cash on a Love Sac. I think he paid $300 for it, but he can also use it for himself.

LLBean has some good ones too for less than $300. Not sure if they're washable, though.
