sister problems

There are 5 kids in my family. We are all grown up. My only sister is
younger than me, but totally different. She is rude, opininated, wants
things her way, and is a narrcissist (spelling I know). She has hurt
me many times with her words. The last time she e-mailed me she
tore me up for not helping my Dad settle in his new place more. Well,
I have had enough, so my husband blocked her from my e-mail, I
got caller ID, in other words, am not going to talk to her anymore.
We never did have a good relationship. I think I am Ok with this.
Some days I am hurt by this, some days it doesn't bother me.
By the way, I am a depressed person who is on medication.
Anyone else going through this?

Well I don't have the greatest relationship with my sister she is very different from me. She is a lil judgemental, harsh, and whatnot and that is not me. I still love her and hope that all of life gifts find their way to her.

This may be a temporary fix for you and the distance in the relationship my be needed in order to repair it. If she is younger maybe she just needs a lil more time to grow so dont write her off completely yet. I'm sure on her end she loves you very deeply. She just may have to grow to refine how she deals with other people.

You have every right to limit your contact with her. Don't be afraid to put your foot down on her behavior and let her know her bullying behavior won't work with you. That you guys are adults and no more of her bs. goodluck

Unfortunately, I have a father that never has a nice thing to say to me or anyone, actually. I can't wait until I move out (1 more month)! Sometimes it's better to get certain people out of your life. Others might tell you you're being a little unfair and selfish and should try to work things out, but this is your life and you don't need to deal with that stress.

I do not have a sister, but I know that I grew up watching my mother and her sister, and their relationship was strained as well. You don't have to contact her if you don't want to, but you may want to call and let her know why you're distancing yourself and what she did that you don't find acceptable. If she doesn't know, she can't exactly change her behavior.

yes i am going thro this i am getting married in a few mts and am just completely devistated becasue my sister is constanty saying such amazingly hurtful things nothing she says is nice and i am just so hurt by her. she is not coming to my wedding and we can never be not fighting....this tears me appart but she is soooooooo ok with it . everyone recomends that she and i just dont talk anymore and i cant handel that . see me and my sister were kidnapped and we bonded but when we grew up everything turned to . She has point blank told me that her life is better with out me. i am at a loss of a sister becasue of jelousy or whatever it maybe.
