how often should i water my flowers

i have 4 flower hanging baskets outside and their dying, i water them a little each day...and they get enough sun...could i be watering to much?

Are there drain holes in the bottom of the pots? They may be getting too much direct sun? Or they may dry out too fast?

I just bought and repotted a stupid plant a week ago and it is on its way to a slow death, I'm sure of it. I thought maybe I was watering it too often, but the soil is always dry... I clipped a bunch of the dead stalks off this morning, hopefully something will help because I really do like this stupid plant. My green thumb isn't very green.
