Ok ladies. I am in need of losing about 75lbs. I lost my mom to cancer last yr and packed on 45lbs in a yr from depression. I'm up to about 225lb and want to be back down to 150lbs which is where I was many yrs ago. Not to skinny and not to big. Perfect for my body type. I've tried everything. I am very active and dont eat like a hog (anymore). I'll admit, I ate horribly but I dont know. I eat right and exercise, yet i've only manged to maintain my weight. I eat less then 2000 calories a day and exercise, by right I should lose something but nope. Now I heard about this product called Sensa, talked to a few people and said heck why not. So I just got it in the mail yesterday. First I want to say I am not in any way trying to advertise this, I was wondering if anyone has heard of it or tried it. its a thing you sprinkle on all your food and its supposed to help you feel fuller faster and help curve cravings. I started it last night and this morning when I ate breakfast i def felt fuller quicker. Its almost 10am and I'd usually be snacking on something by now but I have no desire. It could be in my head for all I know but hey if it makes me stop eating like I was then fine by me. So I honestly want to know if anyone out there has tried it

First and foremost, I am sorry to hear about your mother.

    Now -

Sensa isn't going to help, sweetie. Any product you see flung in front of your face isn't going to help.

    You are the key.

Losing weight is simple. Caloric deficit. Burn more calories than you take in. If you are maintaining your weight, you are not doing this.

Accomplish this deficit by eating less and exercising more frequently and at higher intensity.

Read that post. Follow it exactly. No cheating. I give you 4 months and you're down 75 lbs.

    Good luck.

Thank you for your reply. I've never been a fan of products that claim to make you lose weight. 3 yrs ago is when I was at 150lbs. I had dropped 40lbs in 2 months from hard work. I was biking 5 miles daily and walking 3 then on top of that doing a 20 min cardio. IT just seems no matter what I do it wont leave this time. I've NEVER been over 200lbs so thats just depressing me in its self. I read that post and all your points are right on. I'm really not to far away from that stuff tho. Heck I keep a 3 lt container of filtered water on my desk at work. i drink every drop of it in the 8 hrs i'm at work then go home and still drink more water. I haven't drank a soda in months and i will treat my self to a glass of sweet tea maybe once a week. Im happy with that.. drinking that much water really doesn't bother me like many. many hate water. I'm not looking for the easy way out by any means. I walk on both of my breaks at work each being 15mins then walk more when I get home. I cant run because of my ankles and heart murmur. One of 2 things will happen if I run. either my ankle with flip sideways and I'll whip out (i sprain my ankle on average about 6 times a yr) or my heart will beat so irregular that I will end up laying down on the ground to prevent me from throwing up or passing out. It gets bad sometimes. Even when I do cardio now, i get to that point. so working our hard enough to burn a great number of calories is hard in itself. I want to start biking again its hard for another reason. My mom was my workout buddy. It still kills me to pull my bike out when hers is sitting right there beside mine. I've changed my diet completely. Fruits and veggies are included in my every meal and i'm obsessed with reading nutritional facts on everthing I eat. I just feel like I've gotten to the point of saying oh well, I'll live in this body that I hate. AGain the depression kicks in but I stil have not. I still stick to my diet and I think honestly my major problem is finding work outs that i can do that will not make my heart go crazy

Love, you cannot make excuses. Find some cardio that works and just do it. This is your physical and mental health we are talking about.

You said you like biking - biking is awesome....and yes something you shared with your mother...why can't it still be positive?....Turn your bike riding into therapy. Think how proud your mother would be that you are taking charge of your health. Use that time to reflect on happy memories. Use that time to think about her. It will be tough at first, but you will start to look forward to it.

I'm not a Dr., but I tell you what - you drop those pounds and your depression is gone. Your self image as a woman relies a great deal on how you think you look.

In addition, exercising releases endorphins much like eating and sex. Your working out might also help with your over revved libido as well. I bet your B/F will love it too. Get him involved.

Best of luck to you. I urge you to get that bike out.

Oh trust me I eye that bike quite a bit. And you are right, she really would be proud of me for still going. I'd love for my boyfriend to get involved with it but he works night shift and I'm day shift. I'm home for about 30 mins before he leaves for work. He gets 4 days off but works alot of overtime so getting him involved will give me this idea of not wanting to do it without him and well that'll leave me to a couple days a week and thats not good. I've been on my bike once since mom passed away and I did love it, then again I wasn't alone. my boyfriend and I road up and down the boardwalk at the beach. I really really appreciate your reply. I'm really not trying to make excuses. I'm very much dedicated but you are right. Biking and walking were my 2 things I could do that would not effect how my heart functioned so its only smart to get back on the horse or in my case bike again. HAHA!!! I guess next thing I need to do is find a safe place to ride. I just recently moved so I'm not to familiar of the area yet. People are crazy drivers around here. When I get home tonight, I'll grab my bike and start mapping out a route. Thanks Hun

    Default actually... it does help

I'm sure that guy means well, and he sounds well informed... but... I was a skeptic as well, until I tried it...

it does actually work... sensa is a great new discovery, it tricks your brain into thinking you're full... i've been on it for about a week now and already it has made a big difference in how much I eat!

it takes a little time, like anything, but you will lose weight. even if you don't change your diet and don't exercise. I myself am eating right and exercise for added benefits. and I've lost about 3 pounds... in just a week! I would recommend it to anyone!

there is a free trial.. if you don't like it (i'm sure that you will though) then you can cancel!

but so far it appears to be invaluable in the fight to lose weight!

for most other fads and pills I would definitely say stay away. but if it works it works... go to the website, research it and find out if it's right for you!

Darious. OTYA is a respectful member of this Forum and let me say, what he offers as advice is and has worked for him and for others.

And, in addition anything is possible, please read our FAQ rules on how to provide Opinions on this site, verses dissing another member's thoughts or advice.

    Kally, get on your bike!!!

You know that fat turns to muscle and so you may not feel that your losing weight if you constantly weigh yourself so I am going to say, if you do? Stop it.. Don't weigh yourself stay on the path your on. Your doing the correct things with the calories and with the water but you need more excersise as well.

I can lose 5 kilo's in 3 weeks and have.. So what's that 101lbs? So 451lbs in 4 months can happen.

It won't show straight away, it doesn't show straight away.

Don't lose faith at all and just keep going, adding in at least 30 minutes of excercise a day. Even simple things added in like gardening, housework, walking up and down steps for 10 minutes, just use every opportunity you have with anything you do day to day as being a form of exercise.

I am with you on anything that claims to help via tablets, or sprinkling over food, although quit smoking tools have chemicals and seriously stuff your mind up and make you shaky, it is all to do with our mind.. I CAN DO IT, I WILL DO IT, THERE IS NO SUCH WORD AS CAN'T.

If you think that this product is helping and the ingredients shown on the packet are natural and nothing chemical in them, then it doesn't matter if it works or your mind thinks that it works but your key is as OTYA states, exercise.

    JUST DO IT.

any sort of drug which alters your senses should be a last resort. If you take it for a long length of time, who knows what sort of withdrawal symptoms you may have to endure.

Firstly, regarding your goal 75 pounds in 4 month is do-able, but you'll need determination. Don't fall for any fad diets or pill which claims weight loss in very short durations, most of those you'll just lose water and get dehydrated, any weight that you lose will grow back in no time.

I see that you're eating less than 2000 calories a day, what's the composition? make up a rough table and see if we're able to adjust it to optimise your weight loss.
