It will be 2 years in January, that I lost my son Roderick. I have been thinking about trying for a baby again, but don't think my longtime boyfriend is ready, I have asked him many times, My family wants to know if I am ready, and is it the right thing to do so soon, when your still grieving.

I am scared the same time, I was 19 when I got pregnant 2 years ago, everything was going right, I was 7 months, 34 weeks, I was almost due to have him, I quit smoking when I found out I was pregnant, I ate healthy, everything, I didn't lift anything heavy, Anyways... I had him 2 month's early and the doctors didn't know what happend. I kept going to my pre-natal doctor and she kept saying everything is alright, He stopped moving in my stomach, she kept saying eat something you don't normally eat, I'm sure he's alright, I can hear his heartbeat, but I knew something was wrong, so I needed a second opinion and sure enough something was really wrong, I don't want the same thing to happen to my second try for a baby, The doctors just told me he was brain dead, a few days before he stopped moving, I felt this numbing pain agaist my pelvic bone, It hurt so much, I kept telling my doctor he was moving in there and it was hurting so much a few days ago, but she said nothing, I really don't trust doctors anymore, I mean she should of known by his little heartbeat beating so fast my delivery person said, I am thankful I got 13 days with him, and felt his little fingers grasping onto mine

People often say that they best way to get over something like that is to just go ahead and try again. You might want to ask around and find a doctor that you might be able to trust. Explain to your new doctor what happened before and that it's important that he/she take your concerns seriously.

I say give it more time, you are still very young and still grieving. You aren't sure your BF is ready to deal with it yet. Why not focus on all the other aspects of your life? Get your education, start a career, get super healthy. Give it a few more years and be really healed and have all your ducks in a row.

If you feel you are ready then you can be the only one to judge. It has to be a mutual thing between you and your boyfriend of course. I know you are still grieving but one normally never gets over something like that. Lossing a baby is one of the hardest things someone can go through. You may never 100% be ready because of your fear of doctors and fear if it happening again. Sit down with yoru boyfriend and ask him for his honest opinion. Good luck hun
