Does anyone know anyone who has gotten a clot because of BC? How much did you weight? Did it run in the family? How long have you been on the BC before you got a clot?

How many people in the world take BC pills? (Estimated of course...)

I'm still feeling a bit odd, still taking these... Nothing looks like a blood clot at all, but keep feeling leg/arm pain. One of my toes is really bugging me right now... X.X Should I stop taking the pill or ride it out for the month and see how I feel?

I tried to find some actual statistics on birth control use, but I can't seem to find a reliable source that has all of them together. What I did find is that ~41% of American women are on birth control, and the risk of blood clots from birth control is about half the risk of blood clots due to pregnancy.

It's not exactly a personal testimonial, but it gives you some ideas.

According to doctors, people who are concerned about blood clots should continue to take the pill until consulting a doctor.

Default Blood Clots and birth control

Blood clots can be related to the use of birth control. I have no genetic tendencies to clotting, proven through blood tests done by my doctor, yet I did have a blood clot in my leg. My doctor can only relate it to the use of the birth control pill as I was not on other meds at the time. Take note that not all blood clots give you pain, but if you suspect a clot - go to your local emergency or family doctor and have it checked. Make sure you read up on possible symptoms also. Although other symptoms exist, my symptoms were pain in the whole leg for one day and settling into the calf on day two, with calf being hard and also warm to the touch. I was lucky that a family member recognized the symptoms and got me to the hospital. I was on blood thinners for 6 months until the clot dissipated and must now wear a medical compression stocking for 2 years until the veins strengthen and heal. Not fun...but I survived. If you are worried about clotting, talk to your doctor about your concerns, don't ignore them. Best of health to you.
