Your bodies are going into starvation mode with anything less than 1000 calories a day. Your body will no longer burn what it thinks it needs, that is why your not loosing, and are gaining. Your best bet IS to eat snacks, in between small meals. A c-section will make it more difficult to do sit ups and therefore obtain a flat tummy but it in no way prevents you from doing so.

I used a tool over the internet to calculate the calories that I needed to take every day, the result is 1200 calories a day, weight loss average of 0.46 lbs per week, which should be reached by February 04, 2010. That long? I'm 110 lbs now, I want it to be trimmed down to 100. If I wanted to see the result next month, how much calories/day should I take or eat? 1000? I'm counting my calories now, I love it. Knowing how much calories I am putting inside your body.

As you age, your metabolism starts slowing. As a result, you either have to eat less, or exercise to burn more calories to maintain your current weight.

You were fine when you exercised, but when you stopped, you put on weight....what other help do you need?

    Get back into it.

    No No No No.

    Completely wrong.

The metabolic reduction caused by starvation will *NOT* offset the reduction in calories from not eating. Simply put, even if you do trigger some type of maintenence mode in your body from reducing calories, the effects from this are negligible and not even an issue.

In addition, depending on the person's body type, a varying amount of calories may or may NOT trigger "starvation mode." There is no magic number.

Your best bet is to eat 3-5 small meals a day. Whatever you find works for you. SMALL HEALTHY MEALS. We're not talking M&M's or soda.

Situps DO NOT make a flat stomach. Situps tone your abdominal muscles. They may make it pretty to look at, but they don't make it flat! Doing situps, if anything, may make your stomach protrude MORE.

The bulge in your stomach is from fat accumulation, which is only reduced by your body burning it through a caloric deficit caused by exercise.

If you've been pregnant, you MAY have extra skin there, dependent on how much weight you put on and a variety of other factors. They only way to get rid of that skin is through surgery. DON"T confuse skin with fat.

    Good luck.

I was going to write a thread like this. I too have been getting a little chubby in my stomach area.... I only eat once a day too but dang I feel I need to excersise some of this fat off.
What's a good excersise I can do at home??? I've been wearing corsets lately just to slim my belly down but really like to start excersising soon.

    Not true..

You can do sit ups, sitting on the lounge, whilst driving the car, tightening your muscles, whilst sitting at the computer, plenty.

I am wondering though if your stress related and have IBS, that makes a woman look pregnant if the stomach muscles aren't tightened....

What two meals do you eat poses another question madam.

But, if it's IBS, cut out any dairy, eat greens anything green, salad or vegetables, & nothing spicy...

Your best best irrespective is to do the above and sit ups, or tighten the muscles sitting whilst working.

Nothing happens over night but it will happen.
