Brown Blood?

I am 19 and have had a fairly regular period for about 4 years up until this last month. So I have had 3 periods in the last month. And only one day of no bleeding between my second and third period. I went to my gyno yesterday. She said everything felt normal and took some blood work. I'm still bleeding but today it's brown... what does it mean?

Brown blood generally means old blood clearing out, it happens. If you went to the Dr yesterday sit tight until you get the test results.

The nurse said that black blood was old blood and I was getting it that the last two days... I'm confused

Was it black blood or just a really darkish brown? I didn't have a period for about a year but would spot really dark brown blood, my obgyn told me it was just old blood trying to clear out of my body. I opted for a D&C in Feb to clean things out and he said that is exactly what was going on up there.

Obviously, if you are very worried about it, I'd call the Dr's office and talk to the nurse.
