    Hey everyone,
I was a late bloomer, had my period since 16....
I have always had a pretty painful period with gut wrenching cramps, but that last few months it has gotten progressively worse. There is one day out of my period that i have excessive gas...and releasing this gas gives me such strong pains it feels like my uterus is being ripped out of my body. the same pains happen when i try to have a bowel movement which is usually constipated on this ONE DAY of the cycle.....otherwise no other problems in that area. I also get cramps that i like to call "butt cramps", pain like my abdomen but in my bottom.....anyone out there have similar pains? or am i freakishly weird?

You're not weird...I get really painful gas during my period too combined with awful cramps. Which is why I take alot of Ibuprofen for the pain.My doctor says that the gas is because of my diet..I'll have to speak to her again about that. Hope you feel better.

No, your not weird, just most girls arn't brave enough to bring it up.Try getting more fiber into your diet, just try to introduce it before you are in your cycle. Drink plenty of water with it.

I got cut off, my boss needed something asap.
Anyway, women always seem to have more problems with digestive systems (you never see a man on an activa commercial, right) and all the laxative adds are geared towards women too. Fiber will help but the reason you don't want to start adding it when your cramping is that it could cause more discomfort Don't add more than directed, let your body get used to it. Also avoid chocolate and caffeine. Try drinking warm tea's, cold drinks cause more gas. Also take any pain reliever at the onset of cramps it is more effective. It also wouldn't hurt to have your hormones checked. My regular Dr. said mine were fine but after learning more I asked to see them and the numbers were right on the cusp. I was estrogen dominate and that was causing my cycle to be crazy out of whack. Now I'm using Bio-Identical (natural) hormones and what a relief. (Don't let a Dr. put you on synthetics)!
BTW I was an early bloomer at the age of 10 and went on BC pills at 15 to straighten my cycle out, I was on them for nearly 19 years, now I've just read that it lowers your testosterone levels, your body won't start building it back without help.
