    Question Weight loss

I had an accident in 1993, in which I fell down a flight of stairs. In doing so,I damaged my knee as well as three disks in my back. In 1993 I was 38 so it did not seem so bad, but the older I got the worse the pain became. Last April after work on a Saturday I attempted to wash my car and was unable to get up on Sunday. From that day on I have had very bad pain. My Dr says that surgery would have helped if perfomed at the time of the accident, but I was not given that option. So now it will do no good. I am not active, it hurts to stand for more than 10 min, it hurts to sit in a chair for a while. I cannot walk, as I used to do. I used to walk two miles a day to keep my weight down. I cannot do that any longer, so the weight has come and I do not know how to lose it. I eat properly, but my Dr says my metabolism is very low. Is there anyone out there with a similiar problem, and if so how did you lose weight.

There are some exersize programs for people with mobility problems or injuries. Check out Calanetics, Classical Stretch and there's a program that used to be on TV that was seated exersizes. Do some searches, I'm sure you'll find something that would be suitable.

I have a bad case of arthritis, so I can't exercise with my knees. the prednisolone drugs made me add weight!
I started watching my meals, I went on the south beach diet. I also do hand exercises while sitting. Lifting dumbells, that kinda thing.
