Why not do that and give it to him now?
My bf and I have been together almost 9 yrs now, and he has been wanting to have a baby for like the last 5 or 6 years. I was against it because we were both still living at our parent's house, and I was starting a steady job and all. We have been living together for 8 months now, and the first thing out of his mouth when we moved in was ... when are we having a baby? lol
So I just got a positive pregnancy test a couple of days ago. I just stopped taking my BC pills Aug. 18 hoping to get pregnant within the next 6 months to a year. I am shocked it happened so soon, but I couldn't be any happier. I was hoping it would happen in November-December just because his birthday is on Christmas, and I thought it would have fun to surprise him then.
Our 9 year anniversary is coming up in a little less than a month. I was thinking of getting one of those Daddy-to-be t-shirts on Cafepress and wrap it up as a gift with the positive test, and give it to him after supper at the restaurant or something. My problem is, I don't know if I can hold it in for a month lol. And I almost feel guilty for keeping it from him that long.
Any thoughts or opinions on what to do?
Thank you

I think the question is... Can you keep it quiet that long? It would be great to tell him on a special date like that, but, I wouldn't wait that long to tell him. Make your own special night with dinner etc.
Some ideas...
Wrap up a pack of newborn diapers with a card.
Get a baby bib with his favorite sports team on it.
Give him an invitation inviting him to the birth of your first child.
Empty his sock drawer and replace it with diapers and a note on top "Get ready Daddy - I'm moving in!"
Have FUN!

thanks ladies.. I appreciate your input. Lana... great ideas!
Just last night he was asking me how come I still didn't get my period, and i said well sweetie, could take a while lol
I will order the t-shirt tonight, and i have to call today for my first appointment, so depending when that will be, I'll decide then. I know here it seems to take a while before you actually get an appointment, and I would really like him to come with me.
I will keep you posted!
Thx again
Congrats! Enjoy this time together. I remember the months preparing for our first child were some of the most precious DH and spent together. After baby it will never be quite the same. It's not a bad thing... just different.
