    Default Bacterial Vaginosis NO MORE!

I am a 45 year old Mom of 5. I am pre-menopausal. I had chronic bacterial vaginosis for what seemed like my whole adult life. I would try flagyl and it would work for a month or so then back would come the odour. When I was married it was worse after sex. I always felt unclean. I was desperate to try something so I just decided no more underwear! And ladies I have a whole new life without any odour and practically no discharge. I have not changed anything in my life so have to attribute it to this.

It is unbelievable the difference. I wish I had tried it years ago. I know, I know the idea sounds gross and it did take about 2 weeks to get used to but it was worth is for me. And I would rather not wear anything compared to a thong or that string underwear my girls wear.

Before I took the no underwear plunge I did try no underwear at night (I was not taught this growing up) but it did not work for me. I have always worn cotton granner underwear, it didn't matter the odour kept returning.

I am going on 3 months now and it is wonderful. It may not work for everyone but it may work for you!

What can it hurt to try?

I'm glad to finally see a success story!

I do have a question for you...

I don't have BV, really...I have something entirely undiagnosed that my doctor is trying to crack. I have been TREATED for BV several times, along with yeast, cervicitis, ph imbalance, etc. And nothing has worked. My doctor now has me still trying to balance out my ph, and she suggested sleeping with no underwear at night. I've been doing that now for a couple of weeks, and it hasn't seemed to do much.

So, once you started going underwear-less all the time, how long did it take for you to notice your symptoms go away? I'm kind of inspired to try it now that I've read your post, but I'm wondering how long I should give it a go before I decide whether or not it's working?

    Hey there:

I believe it took about a 3 weeks to a month.

You know it is kind of funny how I decided to try it out. I was reading a fiction novel that had some humour in it and this older lady mentioned "women shouldn't be wearing pants cause your vagina can't breathe" lol

If you think back to earlier years more women wore only dresses and probably had cotton underwear so the rate of BV may have been much less back then...I don't know I am just guessing.

I cannot wear any type of synthetic shorts, pantyhose was a killer, polyester anything, We go to Mexico every winter and I couldn't even wear my bathing suit for too long but I am hoping now things have changed and I can wear it without worry. I would notice within 1 to 2 days an odour/discharge would return.

    Good luck!

    Thanks for the reply!

So in that month period before your symptoms really went away, what did you do about the discharge? Sorry I'm asking in such detail, I just can't imagine how you did it--did you just have to change your clothing more during this time?

    Hey there:
I did not have that much discharge...the odour was the main problem. I do work out of my home and was able to change if I needed too..although I dont' remember having to do even that very often.

    Okay..interesting development.

I have been odour/discharge free for 3 months now and all of a sudden I have discharge...it does not have odour but none the less. The only thing I can attribute it too is a change of soap! We have used olay soap for years and my wife found a few bars of camay in the cupboard so we are using them up. I will switch back to my regular and see what happens.

I have had this existing problem for years. It is so embarrassing. My OBGYN too has said it is PH balance. I have tried rephresh Pro B as well as rephresh. I really want this issue to be resolved. I have done the same things with proper underwear, no fabric softerner and many more. The only thing that have helped somewhat is to wash down there with babywash. But, regardless the problem still exists. Has anyone heard of or tried Femmesil It is $25 and if it doesn't cure your problem you get you money back. I am VERY surprised that sooo many wemon have this problem and are still having to deal with no relief from thier OBGYN. There is something that these doctors need to learn. I have seen this in many places on the internet while researching and do nt understand.

I had a major problem with BV. I would go to the doctor and get some medicine for it, and it would help for awhile but after a few months it would return! I did some research and I was shocked to find that 77% of all women treating Bacterial Vaginosis with Pharmaceutical Antibiotics suffer from reoccurrence within months.

I found a site that taught me to treat my BV naturally without the medications that have nasty side effects. Since I have applied the methods taught there I have been BV free for 6 month now. I dont wanna be too confident but maybe I am cured!. Check the site out maybe it can help you too.

I am a recent sufferer only having been diagnosed in July of this year. Since then I have yet to get rid of it! My doctor just keeps prescribing Flagyl and it doesn't work! I have been researching this online and trying to find out what other women have done about this and wondered if anyone here had tried any of these things. The MOST annoying thing across the board is the odor and that is what I am trying to eliminate IMMEDIATELY! This is what I've found:
    Tindamax (in leiu of Flagyl)
    Garlic, Folic Acid, Acidophilus Combo
    3% Hydrogen Peroxide/Distilled water douche
    collodial silver
    fem-dophilus
    clindamycin
    femmisil
    yogurt directly applied
    bathing in apple cider vinegar

I am so desperate at this point, I believe I am going to try a little bit of everything and see what works best. If you have tried any of the above or know of anything else that might work pls respond!

    Thanks
