    Default TONGUE Cleaning

Okay, so I know that you are supposed to brush your tongue because it helps get rid of bad breath. And I try, I really do. But I gag, horribly. To the point where I stand over the sink spitting and praying to God I don't vomit (especially after I JUST brushed my teeth!)

Are there any other solutions or ways to clean my tongue? I don't think my breath stinks and I alway have gum/tic tacs/listerine pocket strips but I can't stand having a white tongue. I feel like it looks gross. And I feel like my mouth isn't as clean as it should be since I can't stand to brush my tongue for more than like....three seconds.

    =(!

You don't brush your tongue like you do your teeth. You need a very soft bristle brush or you can get a special tongue cleaner. Don't stick it so far back that you gag your self either. You should also gently brush the roof of your mouth,
Do you floss? That mat be the most important thing to do.

Try brushing by pulling forward on the brush only, not trying to brush both in and out on your tongue.
And just don't go so far you gag!

always brush forward not back this stops the gagging, more importantly ensure you are flossing, tongue scrapping comes second to tooth flossing.

Did you know that person can often get rid of bad breath by cleaning their tongue more thoroughly? Studies suggest that brushing and flossing should be accompanied by tongue cleaning in order to achieve a truly cleansed oral cavity.

You need to do two things on a daily basis....1) Brush your teeth twice each day...12 hours apart is ideal. 2) Floss your teeth and gums once each day, usually before bed is recommended. Tongue scraping, brushing, scrubbing or anything else is generally NOT necessary or recommended.

You're porbably not a floss user. Did you know that your gums have a direct link to heart disease? Did you know that heart disease is the number one killer in America?
I am not claiming that flossing your gums on a daily basis will eliminate your risk of heart disease. I am telling you that your risk of heart disease is significantly reduced by flossing your gums once each day.

Forget bad breath....isn't reducing your risk of heart disease reson enough to start flossing? As an added benefit your bad breath will be significantly reduced as well.

BTW - the idea is not to saw your gums in half in between each tooth. Instead, think of the floss as a gentle scraper and "scrape" the sides of the teeth that face each other. Up and down, once or twice per space between teeth should suffice.

for me Tongue cleaning is very sensitive and ignored issue by people..... we always just go to brush our teeth, check the smile and see that how good our teeth are looking but we often don't remember that our Tongue is also the beauty of our mouth as well. for me i always wash my tongue and give the best as much as I can.... I am really happy to see this thread that people do concern about their Tongues too....... I use to chew mint a lot because it does make my tongue clean.... a suggestion given by my uncle .......

I typically floss twice a day and brush 3 or 4 times. I always clean my tongue too.
