Low Hormone Birth Control effectiveness... could I be pregnant?

Hi all, New here

So i've got a question. I have been on a Low Hormone pill for about 8 months now. I have light spotting in between periods and especially at the end 2-3 days before my period.
I so have a serious boyfriend and we are quite sexually active lately relying only on my pill as contraceptive. I have been pretty good this month about taking my pills never missing a day completely but a few hours off here and there.
I am now two days late. I usually get my period the day after my last pill. I did have light spotting(like I usually do) about 5 days ago.
Is there a chance I could be pregnant? Even though I had my normal spotting? Is low hormone less effective?

I guess I'm just a little nervous, this is not the best timing in my life for any kids!
