Does anyone know the best way to get rid of a very very bad nail fungal infection?? My grandma has it really bad in her toenails. They are extremely thick and yellow and look... well... almost poreous. She refuses to take any sort of pills so that is out of the question. She puts some sort of topical solution on them, but it clearly does not good. She has resorted to wearing bandaids to hide them and protect them in her shoes. They are really scary looking and I just don't know what to do. She WILL NOT go to the doctor about it. Ugh. Help??
I'm not really sure how much can be done if she refuses to see a doctor, but it sounds like it's become quite serious. You can purchase creams or polishes that you can apply to the nails, but these alone do not usually get rid of the infection entirely. She really needs to see a doctor about this, so that they can diagnose her and prescribe treatment.
