Personally I am against the injections. Botox is the botulinum toxin. By far it is one of the most dangerous substances if in a uncontrolled setting. Basically what happens with a botox injection is the toxin infects surrounding cells and essentially renders them inactive. With no neural firing the result is a paralyzed, numb, and flawless section of skin. However, think about how many procedures are done...millions upon millions. Doctors know how dangerous this stuff is by itself, which is why the injection is done in such a low concentration and with extensive research regarding proper procedure. With that said, like any medical procedure there will be risk involved. Nothing is 100% safe.
There will be other treatments, other procedures...but a one time injection will do no harm other than the prick of the needle. You can give it a try and see how it goes. When the effect wears off the wrinkles will not spring back or anything but they may become slightly visible again due to your skin cells regaining consciousness (that's how I like to describe it lol).
