    Hopefully somebody can help

I'm wondering what side effects people have experienced after going off the pill (I was on Yaz).
I went off of them in June 09, and I've had three periods since then. My third period was a week late, so of course there were thoughts that I was pregnant (my fiance and I would gladly welcome this addition, although we're not 'trying').
I am now overdue by about two weeks. I had a bit of spotting (brownish, lasted a day), I'm nauseous, and I now have a lot of acne (I know the pill helps this, but it only started two weeks ago and before this two zits were a total breakout). I took a test this morning and it came up negative. I'm wondering if this is happening because I'm still readjusting.
So...since I've gotten 3 periods (two scheduled as normal), I figured my body was getting back in sync. How long will it take to get things on a regular track?
This is so confusing! Thanks for any help

I was on it for 4 or 5years straight. When I stopped I got horrible acne, dandruff, oily skin across my whole body... My eyes kept drying out so my contacts messed up. That lessened after 2months but continued mildly for another 2 or 3. I did not get my period for months and then it was horrible. I laid on the couch for 3days. It was another 2-3months before I got my period again and same thing but I got my period the next month ok. Then another 2month break. It took a year before everything was back to normal. Then I went through a bunch of with hormonal iuds that didn't work out and I'm back on birth control pills. yay.... Actually I love being on birth control pills... I just hate coming off them and that week of inactive pills which results in all the same symptoms as stopping the pill plus making my insomnia worse. I'm trying lybrel right now which has no periods at all but it's not working as well. I keep having acne for a few days a month and spotting. I'm debating stopping all birth control when my husband gets snipped or sticking it out just for the fact I will never have my period again.

    Default Nothing yet....

I still have not gotten my period. About 3 weeks ago, I took 2 pregnancy tests and had a blood test done at my doctors. They all came out negative. I've had dull cramps for the last 5 days, I've been eating a ton (my sister was kind enough to point this out for me) and I've been peeing way more than I ever have before (about 2-3 times an hour, even if I don't drink anything for several hours). I have no idea what's going on! I've read other posts similar to this, and people have said they've been in the same boat and were in fact pregnant, and other people were still adjusting. It's just really confusing. Hopefully people that have been through this will see this and give me some encouraging words. It's not that my fiance and I are trying, but I don't want to have a glimmer of hope for nothing. I plan on making a doctors appointment next week if nothing has changed.
    Thanks

It took my body months to get back to normal after I went off birth control. I had terrible acne for about a month or two (after not having any, EVER, in my life, even before birth control)... But that certainly went away, and actually my hair became a lot healthier as well (I was experiencing hair loss with birth control).

Just give it time, it'll be fine.

I went on and off birth control probably six times within a period of a year and half. I was completely off any type of b.c. for a full year, and my periods never returned to what they were. I used to have amazing, 3 day periods, moderate cramping, and very little acne. I never spotted. After going on and off birth control, I started spotting two weeks into my cycle, spot for a few days both before and after my period, get MONSTER cramps, and have insane breakouts on my face. I just recently got back on birth control and hope that this will fix my period problems.

    Default Confused as

    Hi everyone,
    Okay, so here's the situation.
This morning at 7, I took a test. It came out positive. I was super excited! I woke my fiance, and then did a second test. That came out positive too! All morning I was bouncing around so happy with the news. I went to the doctors, took a urine test, and it came out negative. I felt like the world had gone out from under me. I was a wreck. I did get blood drawn, but won't know until Monday or Tuesday (it's only Friday).
When I was getting my blood taken, the nurse gave me some tests to take at home (I broke down crying in front of her, so she knew what was going on). I took one about 15 minutes after I got home (I couldn't wait any longer, had to pee super bad, and she had given me 5 of them) and I got a positive result!
Has anyone else had anything like this happen to them? We want to be pregnant so badly now that we've been this close. I'm just trying to stay calm and relaxed. If anyone has any stories or advice, whatever, it would be extremely helpful to hear right now.
I will post back with the results.
    Thanks everyone

The best I could tell you is stay relaxed. You being stressed out is no good for baby! Enough stress can lead problems in the baby dept.

    Hi everyone

It turned out I was indeed pregnant- approximately 4 weeks along. On Sunday night, I started to have cramping and a lot of bleeding. I ended up going to the emergency room where the doctor informed me I had a very good chance of having a miscarriage. The next day I had increased bleeding and cramping. I went to the emergency room after I saw that I had passed the conceptus (what the doctor referred to 'it' as). As painful emotionally and physically as it was, I remained completely calm during my 10 hour visit (in total) to the hospital. It seems like now that the physical pain has stopped, the emotional has started. It's now Saturday evening and I'm still bleeding a little bit and while there's very minimal cramping, I feel emotionally drained, just completely wiped out. I know in time I'll feel better but right now I feel horrible. Thank god I have an amazing fiance to support me, as well as both of our families.
Thank you for any positive comments,
    Ashley

Thank you for sharing your story whilst still in the midst of the rawness of it all! have just read all of your posts now and could feel the roller-coaster of emotion as I was reading and can really feel your disappointment and grief. it is soo important to have the support of the people that you love at these sensitive times, to help love you through all of the emotion. give your body time to rest and feel whats just happened and know that it is experiences like this that women often reflect on as a time when a greater awareness was discovered or a new found sense of strength and empowerment comes through.

Look at this extra time to give your body the time it needs to come back into even greater balance and better health so it is even more ready to carry the beautiful baby that is coming. when your body is ready, the time will be right; and when the time is right, your body will be ready.

    Blessings honey!
