I have had the same problem going on four days now. At first it was almost all day long, now I hardly notice it. Here's what I have tried that might be working: Yesterday it was a cool morning so I turned on my heated seat in the car. I didn't buzz all the way to work. If it's a muscle issue, heat might help. I'm going to try sitting on a heating pad at my computer and see what happens. I was in a car accident a month ago and have been taking more prescription medication than normal, but I don't think this is the cause. I did take a muscle relaxant the other night to see if the buzzing would stop but it didn't.

I've also tried to "work out" those muscles with Kegal exercises. These are the muscles that stop the flow of urine when you are doing your business. Contracting and releasing those muscles throughout the day might also be helping.

I'm pretty sure after reading these threads that it's not related to age, sexual activity, birth control, number of children or stress. If it was stress related, I think other parts of my body would be twitching. Besides, I have been stressed for years and this is my first buzzing experience. Now that I think about it, my buzzing would have been off the charts during my divorce if it were stress related!
I tend to think also that a lower back massage might help, I plan to try that this weekend.
I sit at work almost all day and most of my pants fit fairly tight. I notice the buzzing the most when I am sitting and find myself adjusting my pants frequently. Maybe tight pants aggravate the little fella, not sure yet. I was thinking that constant sitting was the cause until I read the thread from the nurse who thought the cause was from being on her feet all day. I don't feel like it's a serious enough issue to worry about, it's just dang annoying!

My stats are 39 yrs old, no children, on the pill for the last few years, do not clip a cell phone against my body, occasional sex (I'm married, you know how that goes) and in good health. It is troubling to read that some women have had this for months...I'm not interested in entertaining this thing much longer .
I feel for the women who can't sleep at night. A few nights it has kept me awake pretty late simply driving me crazy! I plan to take low dose sleeping pills if it continues, but in the meantime I hope I have written something helpful.
Good luck ladies (and some random men out there)!

    Smile I'm vibrating too!

Thank goodness. I was panicking...seriously panicking I'm so glad to hear that other people are vibrating! I too thought I sat on my cell...nope. Then I looked for my husband's cell...nope. Then I thought it was one of the kids toys...nope. Then it followed me outside and that's when I began to panic. I didn't want to google "vibrating vagina" cause I figured that would give me nothing but X rated sites so I googled "strange feeling vagina" and voila, here I am. From reading previous posts, it sounds like birth control, age, weight and medication have been ruled out but just in case someone else is desperately trying to find someone in a similar situation, I'll list my stats. I'm 28... have 2 children...not on birth control...am on effexor...I do have lower back injury...am under a lot of stress...experienced eye twitching earlier this week and today as well. So, basically I'm thinking maybe some kind of nerve or stress related thing or increased blood flow related issue. Thank you all for posting!

Stress sounds likely, maybe try meditation, stretching, yoga, massage?

    Default Vibrating vagina

I am a 48 year old African American female with two kids ages 30 and 17---the first child was a natural birth and the second was an emergency cycerian. I had a hysterectomy about 4 years ago and did not return for my annual papsmears until last week after hearing the MSNBC doctor mention that we should still have our annual exams, even after a hysterectomy. I started having the vibrating sensations about 3 -4 days ago, so I thought it all steemed from the exam. My sensations come and go every 2 minutes to 30 minutes, so there is no schedule or reason for it---it feels like a cross between a phone vibrating to the hummig sound of a rubber band being pulled and let go. My vibration seems to be coming from the right, external side of my vagina. I left a voice message today for the nurse to relay the message to my gynecologist asking if I should have any concerns. My friends are all skeptacle as to whether I'm dreaming or not, in fact one friend commented that my husband "obviously did a of a job on you…and it’s having a lasting effect." Not the issue---the sensation is not even internally---at least if it was going to be constant, it should be satisfying Anyway, I'm getting lots of laughs from all of this and the many comments. Hang in there ladies---I'm sure there's an answer somewhere. I'm sure if it were an issue with hundreds of men, Congress would have found a solution by now.

    Default Vaginal vibrations

A few weeks back I was experiencing those strange, continuous vaginal twitches and found this and several other sites that talked about the issue. Within two days it was over -- peace reigns. The issue, my sisters, is that the pelvic floor is starting to weaken. It's easy to repair -- just start doing pelvic floor exercises -- the Keigle exercise to be exact. You can find the instructions easily with a google search, and I can assure you that within a few days you'll be strong again. I did them as I drove, as I laid in bed, as I sat at work -- two days and it was over. I feel sorry for those who worried, more sorry for those who wasted their money and time at the doctor where they were greeted with "Uh, dunno." I mean, if all of us are having this experience how can the medical professionals be clueless? There you have it -- time to move on to things that are more of a nuisance, like cleaning the kitchen! Heh!

    Default Vibrating vagina/anus

I have had this vibration between my vagina and anus for a few months now, it's not painful but very annoying. I googled it to see what it could be and was bought onto this site/thread and im shocked to find so many women with the same problem. I am 37 and have had a hysteretomy 8 years ago but still have my overies. I am having checks at the moment for polycystic overies, ( clusters of small cysts on the overies) never thought to mention it to the Dr as i thought it was just my imagination. Reading all your answers have bought me to the conclusion that it is the pcos that is causing this. Im awaiting a scan, and i will mention to the consultant, hopefully it is this otherwise im stumped. If i find out the answer i will let you all know.

This is crazy! There are so many of us with this issue (which is comforting to know) but yet no answers. I am 35, completely healthy, married, have a sex life that I'm happy with, and am on no medications. I am a runner which I have now taken to even more because that's the only time I don't feel this vibrating! Maybe there are no answers because it must eventually go away on its own and isn't serious. Here's hoping!!

Great to find this forum and know I'm not wacked. Have had this on and off for a year. I was thinking probably hormonal as I'm 49 and perimenopausal, but now after reading through the 12 pages of comments, I'm wondering if it may have something to do with sitting in front of the computer a lot? I have had a computer job for 20 years with tons of sitting in front of it - is this a common denominator? I will ask my doctor about the PCOS though, and will try to remember the kegels...

. . .and by the way, I am not on any birth control; I had a tubal ligation years ago. I am also not pregnant and I didn't recently start any supplements or work-out plan. I do experience back pain that I see a chiropractor for occassionally for an adjustment. I would just like to know if anyone, anywhere has a clue to what is causing this?
