This is an interesting question....what is the worst/strangest/eyebrow raising gift you have received from a boyfriend/husband/lover etc

I've always received very sweet and thoughtful gifts but I guess the "worst" I received was a box of melted chocolates. A bf when I was young (and in Singapore) went to Switzerland and thought he'd get a nice box of chocolates for me...a very sweet gesture... but by the time he got back to Singapore and we saw each other they were pretty much a dark brown/black blobby mess. haha He looked so embarrassed when I opened it and saw them too, poor thing.

My kids dad, who in 9 yrs years of marriage, gave me precisely 3 gifts, was the worst. He presented me with a plastic "fountain", designed to look like a faucet floating in the air above 3 graduated size bowls (with plastic flowers floating in them). I'm sure it would have gone great with a few velvet paintings of kittens and some plastic slip covers in a single wide but not with my raku.

When he moved out I very generously let him take it.

No gift at all is pretty bad.
I dated a guy for 6 years and every time my birthday or christmas would roll around he would say: "Just tell me what you want and I'll go and get it."

My response was always. 'Nothing' (what's the point?)

Ooooh you should have told him a full day at the spa, half of the Godiva counter, your car detailed and tuned up, A full book of movie passes, tickets to a good play or concert. He was asking, why not give him something to work with?

I know what you mean though, you want to feel he's aware know and cares enough to pay attention and figure it out - but they often don't.

My fiancee went to a soccer game and they were handing out t-shirts - So he gave it to me for my birthday with a card...Cheapskate...

You know, for two birthdays and two christmases I told him I wanted my car detailed. (he washed/waxed and detailed his truck every Saturday) And he told me that he couldn't do it because I had a felt mat on my dash and he didn't know how to clean it. WTH?

What?! Haha, did he forget you were there when they were handing them out?

Ohh that's just in such poor taste. Sorry sweets.
I'd rather have just had the card or a simple happy birthday than some freebie t-shirt.
