Exclamation I'M FREAKED OUT!!!! someone help please!

I was researching missed periods on the internet and somehow stumbled across vaginal prolapse. I never even thought I might have a disorder like this!! There's pretty much always been a bulge of tissue at the entrance to my vagina, so I never suspected anything was wrong. I feel really awkward discussing this on an online forum, but I'm scared to death!!!
I'm only 15, have never had sex, and have obviously never gone through childbirth. From what I've read, I think I have a urethrocele - just the urethra prolapsing. It's never really bothered me any, but now I'm reading all sorts of things about needing a gynecologist appointment, pessary, or even a hysterectomy! I AM FREAKED OUT!!!! I've always wanted to be a mother, so I can't even imagine a hysterectomy at 15. I'm far too embarassed to ask my Mom about it, much less make an appointment with a gyn. I am scared out of my mind!!! I'm obviously quite desperate since I'm turning to strangers (no offense, girls.) so someone please give me some encouragement or at least set my mind at ease!

Wait, whoa... I'm really confused. From what I read online a few seconds ago, first of all it mostly affects much older women (past 40), and there are symptoms like problems with urination and defecation, not really menstruation.

Are you sure that bit of skin isn't just a hymen??

And... are you saying that your periods are irregular, or what?

WAAAHH calm down!! I'm having a heart attack just replying to this thread! Hahaha.

I wouldnt recommend diagnosing yourself honey. Did it bother you in the past? If not i dont think there's anything to be concerned about. Can you explain what the symptoms are of what you are talking about and which of them you think you might have?

Sweet, your to me describing what we all have, it's not an "empty hole", it's full of tissues/muscles and stuff.

Maybe ask your mum that you want to see a Gyno to discuss periods and then when there, discuss all your other queries.

You can't go on line and look at something and then freak out that you have something that is beyond you..

It's okay... It sucks growing up and being a woman trust me, we have all been there and confused

Thanks for the support, guys I guess I did freak out a bit prematurely. And since I'm not getting married anytime soon, unless I'm like dying, I don't think I need to worry much

I had to look that up and it sounds like you'd have more problems with urination or defecation than with anything else. A prolapse involving your urethra and bladder would give you incontinence for example. It's also most common in women over 40 and or those that have given birth or had a hysterectomy.

I really really really doubt anything came lose in your case. But if you ever do have a prolpase then it shouldn't be anything for you to be embarrassed about.

Oh dear. I doubt very much you have anything wrong. Your body is still adjusting and growing and changing. It's good that you are examining and getting to know your body so that if anything significant changes you will know.

There is a really good pair of books, What's Happening to My Body? One is for girls and one for boys. You may find them very interesting, they give a good overview of all the changes and variations.
