Why does my boob hurt?

Basically, every so often my right boob gets a sharp pain. That's the best way I can describe it. It's only the right boob, not my other one. It also happens at varies times of the month, so I don't know if it could be hormone related or not. Anyone else ever experience something like this?

I know that it has occurred with me, but I can't recall what the Doctor said, it was along time ago now... L/glands? I think off by memory, which I was told is normal in some women, they swell often through stress and stretch and can cause pain.
