Sage worked for me in tablet form from the health shop and they didn't taste too bad. Mine started after my hubby died suddenly when i was 44 and continued until I was 55. Possibly the trauma and then the menopause all rolled into one. I never seemed to get used to the sage. A good hint is to slep on a bath towel and that saves the pilow during the night. I always had to change my nightie every night until the sage started to work.
I am 40, and have had the hot flashes now for more than six months. At first I thought there was really something wrong with me, but I have had so many tests now, and all are negative except for the menopause tests. Sometimes I sleep on the floor in the hallway where the aircon is because at night I feel so hot. I too get them every 15 to 30 minutes, sometimes sweating behind the legs too, but mostly it is just on my forehead. This is just what we have to go through. Unbelievable but true. The sweats are the least of my concerns however, as there are so many other symptoms that I have like other women, that make life difficult. I never gave thought to these things before. No one ever spoke to me about what happens during menopause and the problems we would have to endure. Let's make sure that whomever of us has daughters that we prepare them also for this phase of life so they know what to expect and what is happening to them when symptoms actually start to occur, just like when our periods start for the first time. My goodness.
I'm 50. I've raised my kids. They are out of the house. Every holiday they still want me to be frigin Santa Clause! I can't do it anymore. I don't know why. I've lost all spirit to do the things I used to take pride in. My hubby never participated anyway, yet the kids still pick on me. I think I know why I have this, but is there a way to get these people off my dam back? The sight of putting up a tree, makes me cringe. Anyone feel this way? Yes, I'm in menopause. I have a 75 mg. patch. Helps with sweats. Thats about it.
Hi, I started off similar to yourself at 44. I did not know what was happening, my head would be absolutly wet through.... not good for my hair-do! I just ignored it until it got worse. Now my torso gets wet and, yes, I wake up very cold from being wet through. This is the first signs of the menopause so I am told. I am taking sage oil and I drink what I call sage tea, from grinding down the dry herb and drink this in the evening. I take sage oil in water three times a day. I drink this before I go to bed and find this helps: I am not as wet through. And sometimes I hardly notice that I have had a hot sweat. Now I don't know if this has any significant affects but the other night I had hot milk with rum in it and I did not wake up once. I was not as wet but it could just be a coincidence so I will try it again tonight. Also, I exercise a lot too and find that this does help. You can but try these; they may help, they may not. I will try anything to have a somewhat normal sleep. The sage I take is Organic Tincture Sage, 10 drops in water three times aday. Hope this helps.

For your mood swings, and simply not giving a , try Female Essence by Jan de Vries, Flower Essences, from a health food shop. This really helps me. Also, vitamin B6 helps too. But I would not be without Female Essence: this is a godsend for me. You have to recognise that you are going into a sort of a mood, well, feeling different, then take the essence either directly under the tongue or in water. All the best. J
Hi I am so glad that you are happy now. I keep my weight balance by eating fresh fruit salad every lunch time and a live yogurt. And to nibble on I make my own oat cakes, full of dried fruit and nuts, plus loads and loads of ginger this is preference. I exercise too. I am 46 and stick to this now. I did eat salads for lunch and the weight stayed the same. All the best J.
