Google "Healthy Diet" and you will come up with a hundred websites claiming that low fat is the way to go... personally I think that people are becomming so afraid of "fat" that they will skimp out on some of the most important and highly nutritional foods the world has to offer!!

I used to be anorexic when I was younger, It has been a long process but I have found a stable footing for myself and I feel healthier and more energentic by the day!! But my recovery diet wasent about gaining weight, it was about gaining the proper nutrients my body needed so survive and maintaining a healthy weight.

Even people that are trying to lose weight can benefit from such foods as Avocados, walnuts, almonds, etc... These foods are not the enemy, they supply our body with healthy fats that contribute in the absorbtion of vital vitamins and minerals! without these healthy fats our bodies will not be able to absorb the vitamins and minerals we ingest as easily, and we could be flushing all our hard work litterally down the toilet!

I was wondering if there was anyone apart of these forums that uses whole foods for their health rather than low fat/ reduced fat foods?

I can always eat just anything healthy that I want. But I do watch my portions. That's all I need to do. Little servings, frequent feedings, and variety of healthy organic whole food.

I eat Avocados, nuts, cheese, tuna in oil, sardines, eggs... All fat products but I still weight the same weight I want to

I also eat alot of greens, anything green, try to ensure I have vegetables or salad, and wholemeal breads not white.

I will eat what ever I want as far as meat goes, white rice instead of brown because there is a limit I think to be comfortable with your food.

I also though do ensure the meat is 200grms or there abouts and fill up on the other flavours such as beans, with garlic , bok choy with garlic & oyster sauce, thinly sliced carrots with honey and sesame seeds, potatoes with low fat sour cream, or spray oil, baked with herbs on top and lemon... In-otherwords, I avoid what you call " gravy" which we all white sauce here, fried foods but like I said, I will cook a roast once a week, including Pork and it's crackling...

    It's about balance...
